The Cast:
Me (Megan), 21- third trip (week age 10, day at MK age 19)- obsessive disney planner despite lack of trips
DBF (Steve), 22, first trip ever
We're both senior theatre majors, love both shows and rides.

The Setting: Pop Century on MYW with dining, hopper and plus options, Jan 4th-10th 2006.

The Goal: This is our first big trip as a couple, and I want to show him what it is I love about disney, that it is more than an amusement park and it's not just kid stuff.

The Plan:
Day 1 (Wednesday): Plane lands at MCO at 843AM (don't even want to think about what ungodly hour that means we'll be getting up to leave VA!). Taking ME to POP Century, where I've requested a king room close to Classic Hall (possibly 50s?), facing away from the pools. We'll check in, not count on having our room yet, stow our carry-ons and off to epcot. After checking the wait/fastpass times at Soarin, we'll do a couple quick rides before our 1230ish PS at Les Chefs de France. We'll hang out in Epcot seeing a few of the street performers until our room is ready and we feel like a nap. We'll wake up refreshed, grab dinner at Everything Pop, and head to MK for EMH and Wishes.
Day 2 (Thursday): MGM in the AM w/ a noonish PS at 50s Prime time Cafe. I am still thinking about those s'mores I ate when I was 10! Finish the day in Epcot for our 730 PS at Le Cellier and Illuminations.
Day 3 (Friday): EMH at the MK in the morning, leaving just in time for the latest breakfast (brunch) seating at Kona Cafe. Gotta have the Tonga toast I've heard so much about! Rent Sea Raycers (steve's request when he saw the planning video) at the marina. The rest of the day is open until the 9PM show of Cirque du Soilel (something he's always wanted to see, and I'm definitely excited too!)
Day 4 (Saturday, marathon weekend): AK EMH, I have no idea how long we'll be in this park since I've heard not so great things, but I LOVE animals. We'll play it by ear. Late dinner at Restaurant Marrakesh at Epcot.
Day 5 (sunday, still marathon weekend): All I have planned so far is a 5PM dinner at Boma and the EMH at MGM. I know it'll be crowded, but I really want to ride ToT in the dark! It's also the last day of Osborne lights.
Day 6 (Monday): Epcot EMH in AM, with lunch at Teppanyaki (steve's request, again from the planning video). Rest of the day open.
Day 7 (Tuesday, departure day): repeat favorites one last time. Start w/ EMH at MGM, probably only 2-4 rides. Then head to MK, finish at Epcot (unless something at AK is pulling us, then this plan would change). Our flight leaves MCO at 845PM, which means our pickup from Pop would be around 6.

Obviously, there's a lot of open spots. Since it's a slow time of year and steve is a big "play it by ear" traveller, I'm trying to plan mostly around TS meals and EMHs, and let the rest of the trip sort of happen based on what we like, what the crowds are like, and how fast we get the must-dos done. There will be at least one trip to Disneyquest in there, we will see Fantasmic as well as the other shows, and there will be at least one evening each on Pleasure Island and the Boardwalk, but those things can materialize later, based on what we like. I know evening EMHs are likely to be busier than we'd like, but I figure we can give them a shot in the beginning at least to experience the parks at night, if not to ride a million rides. Is this much flexibility OK since it's a slow time and we're quick-moving adults? Please give me feedback.

Don't forget some of the EMH's could be switched up alittle bit. They are not always set in stone. Otherwise w/ it being such a slow time of year you should be good to go on your plans. Don't forget it can get pretty chilly in January so pack accordingly.

Sounds good so far, but you'll have to check for the current info a bit closer :)

Looks good!

Do you know if Illuminations is at 9pm when you're going? If so, the 7:30pm dinner at Le Cellier might end up cutting it close.

I was counting on Illuminations being at 9, do you really think we won't be done dining in an hour and a half? Being an off-time and DBF not really being excited about seeing the show, I was hoping to find a spot right before it started (even if it wasn't the best spot) to see it without making him have to "stake out a spot." Maybe I'll make a 7PM reservation instead?

Seems like a great plan to me. Just remember that you need to pick up your bracelets for EMH 2 hours before EMH begins, and they do run out sometimes...so ikeep that in mind if you're having a 5PM dinner at Boma and then want to go back to MGM.

Well you can eat there hopefully in about an hour but if they call you late for your seating then you are cutting it very close. Also there might be rows of people ahead of you and you may not really be able to see at all. ALso if you have the extra cash I reccomend trying to book an Iluminations cruise. The boat docks right on the water under the bridge. Its great and no waiting and also a nice ride on the seven seas lagoon.

Also when you are at mgm I dont know if you were planning on seeing their nightime show Fantasmic. We love this show. I would eat diiner, see the lights, and finish off with fantasmic.
