I need to talk Disney so I thought I would post my plans here so you can offer critiques/suggestions. We are arriving Saturday 8/3 and leaving on Wednesday 8/7. Middle-aged Disney loving mom and her Disney loving 14 yo son. It's our third trip to DL since 2013. My plan is to purchase 4-day tickets with park hoppers and MaxPass.

Saturday 8/3
Land at SNA at 11:00 am / Uber to Dessert Inn & Suites
Leave luggage in lockers and walk to DCA
QS lunch suggestions??
Radiator Springs Racers 10x in a row (JK!!!!, or maybe not)
Grizzly River Run
Mike & Sully to the Rescue
Goofy's Sky School (DS14 only)
Toy Story Midway Mania
Return to Radiator Springs at dusk so I can ohh and ahh when they turn the neon lights on
World of Color w/ dessert party
Got back to hotel for late check-in

Sunday 8/4
Walk to DL Park and check in so we can grab FP through MaxPass
Take monorail toward DL Hotel - Late breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen (I know, I know, but DS14 REALLY wants to have breakfast w/ Goofy)
Adventureland (Indiana Jones, maybe JC) / New Orleans Square (PotC / HM) / Critter Country (Splash) / Frontierland (BTMRR)
Fantasmic! w/ Hungry Bear to-go dining package - stay for the fireworks

Monday 8/5
Rope drop DL Park - Pinocchio / Snow White / Mr. Toad / Peter Pan / Alice / Matterhorn
QS Lunch
(Skipping parade and doing rides instead)
SWGE & Tomorrowland

Tuesday 8/6
Rope drop
Main Street
SWGE & Tomorrowland

Wednesday 8/7
late breakfast / early lunch at White Water Snacks
Uber to SNA (Flight leaves at 3:26)

We do hope to stop and enjoy the streetsmosphere in the various lands, ride the RR multiple times, etc. When I only post rides it just means that those are our "must-dos" not that it's the only thing we will do.

The plan seems reasonable but a few suggestions.
  • If you're doing MaxPass, you can get one as soon as you activate your ticket for the day and continue accumulating passes after you leave that day. Be sure to get your first FastPass as you go through the gates, and continue accumulating when eligible for your next one.
  • Focusing on a particular land at a time (except SWGE) may not be the best strategy unless mobility is an issue. Don't be afraid to hop from land to land depending on queue times and FastPass availability. (We tended to go to Tomorrowland first and proceeded through the park in a counterclockwise direction.)
  • Arrive 40 minutes before rope drop to allow time to security and line up for entrance into the park. In the morning, you want to squeeze in as many attractions as you can. Save the people watching and shopping for after 12:00 noon.
  • Your plans for Saturday may be aggressive if you don't arrive until 1:00pm. Peak afternoon on a Saturday in the middle of summer will be busy. MaxPass will help but there may not be any FPs left for Radiator Springs that late in the day. Don't forget about Soarin'

Definitely keeping that in mind. Our late arrival is part of the reason we are doing the WOC dessert party. Depending on how much we get done we might end up returning to DCA for another 1/2 day. As for Soarin', we're skipping it this time - (1) We were just in DW last year and (2) I'm still sad they took away Soarin' over California.
