Please confirm for me......if I make a res for a on-site room now, I can call back later (when they come out) with a discount code to get the cheaper rate, correct? I like to reserve my bed way in advance (as to get the hotel I want), but I'd still like to be able to get the discounted rate. I'm pretty sure I can do this........Thanks for the input!!

That is always a good plan, and well within the "rules". It is especially smart to do if you will be going to the world at a busy time!!

Yes you CAN do this - however it's not GUARNATEED that you'll get the discounted rate.

They only set aside a certain amount of rooms at the discounted rate...if you don't call early enough - you might not get the discount.

Example - we are going back to WDW in December...traveling with 4 other people (so we need 2 rooms)...we were only able to get ONE of the rooms at our AP discounted rate...no other rooms have become available at that rate. (so we have our 'bed'...we're just paying rack rate for it)

THANKS!!! That's okay if we don't get the discount...I am the type of person that will pay more to get what I want, rather than lose it to save a few bucks!!

Not a problem

Glad to see someone else out there with a great attitude like yours! Some people will complain no end to get what they want, cheaper.

A discount is always nice...but we're not going to sacrifice what we really want just to save a few bucks (a view/concierge/etc...)

you are right on the money. some people can't afford to go to WDW....i am fortunate to be able to go every year for a few days and will not complain about having the good fortune to do so!! after all, isn't going to Disney without a discount better than not going at all....
