My Dad says it hasn't changed since our last trip in the summer. Flying economy, I say we are now only allowed one case (i.e half the weight of what we were allowed before. Am I right or am I right?

Thanks for bringing up this thread, I didnt realise this, I booked on 10th November. Does that mean I could buy an additional case in US and bring it back instead of having 2 x 23kilo on the way out, have 2 on the way back?

You can take upto 2x 23kg per person in either direction or both directions, whatever you want.:goodvibes

I think it's 2x23 (what the old economy allowance was). Dont forget you can pay for extra cases too!

What are the PE allowances?

PE is now 2x23 kg per person, but if you booked before 25 November you the old allowance of 2x32 kg per person.

Only UC has the 32kg maximum weight allowance (i.e. 3 x 32 kg per person).

I thought the PE luggage changed in September not november.

No they abandoned the planned september change in favour of reducing all allowances in November!

I booked the day before the baggage changed (lucky or what!?) but noticed on the Virgin site it still says about 1 piece of luggage and not two. Ask a daft question but how do you prove when you booked when you are checking in, either over here or in Downtown Disney?

If you booked online, I think it details your allowance on the confirmation.

I was also worried about this, so emailed Cust Services who confirmed the 2 x 23kg. I'm planning on taking this with me.

We arrived home today. I had taken a copy of an email confirming the old allowance with me but there was no need ~ the staff at both LGW and DTD know who is eligible and who isn't, although if you're anything like me you'll still take a copy for peace of mind. :)

i booked last april and was assured by VH that i would get the 2 bags but when i went to request seats etc my luggage allowance was 1 bag so e-mailed VA reply i got was that as my locator number was passed to them on 1st dec i would get the new allowance.

Hopefully you got someone giving you wrong info, when the new allowances were announced they said for tickets issued before 25th Nov, after lots of complaints they changed the wording to any bookings before 25th Nov. This is how its worded now on VH.

For those of you who make your booking on or after the 25 November 2009, you'll be allowed the following luggage allowance:

I thought i would e-mail VA again but they are still saying that i have the new allowance.

We booked ours last Sept, well before they changed the dates for luggage allowance but only recently been able to check on VA website. The VA website is indicating the new allowance but we have an e-mail off VH to say we are on the old allowance.:confused3

Can see this causing hassle at the airport for lots of people.
