Please Clarify Ticket Question

I just want to make sure I understand the Park Hopper Plus Passes. We are going to WDW for 6 1/2 days in March. If I buy 5 day Park Hopper Plus Passes we can go to the major parks on 5 different days and then we get two pluses for each pass we buy that can be used at a variety of venues such as the water parks. If we do go to one of the water parks on a day we do not go to a major park it does not count as one of our 5 park days. ????? Is this correct?
This is all new to me and this is our first family trip so I want to make sure I'm buying the right ticket.
Also it is cheaper if I buy the tickets at my local Disney Store rather than waiting until I get there. On our first day do I have to activate my ticket or anything. If we do where do I do this and how long does it take. Can I do this at my hotel before going to the parks. We will be staying at the Dolphin.

Hello

The Options on the Park Hopper Plus tickets do not effect the Days you can go to the Parks, they are completly separate.

Please be aware that you can hop with Days part of the ticket, but you can not hop with the Options, if you go to Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon in the same day you will use 2 options.

You are correct, if you only go to BB, TL or PI and NOT to a major park you do not lose one of your 5 park days. However, if you go to BB in the am and AK in the afternoon you lose one park day and one plus option.

I believe the Disney Store sells the PHPs with an advanced purchase discount. Also, check out AAA, ticketmania.com and other sites listed on www.mousesavers.com for discounts on tickets.

If you wait until you get to Disney there will be no discount. However, if you buy them at your Disney resort they can put the ticket on your room key. This is one less thing to have to carry around. Personally, I never thought it was much of a problem and don't think it justifies paying MORE for a ticket.

No activation required--just go to the park and use it.

Yes, it is a little cheaper to pre-purchase from the Disney Store. You will be charged the sales tax as if you bought them in Disney though, which is 6.5%. We had Park Hopper Plus in October and we didn't have to activate them.

Thank-you for all your responses. I think the 5 day hopper plus passes will be the way to go for us.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to which water park is the best? I thought I liked to looks of BB, but I've never been so I do not have a preference!!

you have to pay 6.5% tax on them regardless of where you buy them.
