Okay, I booked on line and of course it says one night, but I am only staying the day. Is there some other way I need to book?

or is this how everyone books in order to use Atlantis, and you
just check out early??

do you have to go back to the hotel to check out?

thanks

No, I think you have to call/e-mail Atlantis and ask for a day room -- I think it is cheaper than the regular room rate.

Alternatively, there is a Comfort Suites across the sreet with full Atlantis privileges. When we stayed at Atlantis last year (my company had its Christmas Retreatthere), there were a lot of people from the Comfort Suites using the facilities.

Also, keep in mind that you can walk around Atlantis fr free -- the shops, the retaurants, etc. It's the pool and the Dig/Aquarium that check ID bracelets.

There is no such thing as a "day room" anymore. You either book 1 night at atlantis $$$$ or 1 night at the comfort suites across the street. $$. Either way you will have FULL use of all the Atlantis Ameneties. ::yes::

In the past Atlantis used to offer a day room but realized it really was not fair to their "Full Paying" guests. On days the ships dock the pools and grounds would be wall to wall cruisers. i'm sure guests would complain.........I can't blame them.

Anyway, Enjoy your cruise!!!!

yeah, I wondered about the overcrowding if that happened...
I didnt think that would be the case anymore, day rates, that is.

thanks. I will stick w/my comfort suite reservation.

hey, do you know if i just tell them I am checking out early or
can you do it thru the tv in the room? how does it work when
you are not staying overnight?
they do not get upset do they?

Our friends just called the Atlantis directly a few weeks ago (we had done the same thing on our last 4 night) and was told they still do day rates at the Atlantis. It does not affect the crowding per say, because they only do day rooms if there is a room available to use, you don't just get the wristbands. The resort is set to accomodate all of the Atlantis' rooms as well as the Comfort suite rooms (I guess that's really a matter of opinion!), so allowing someone to pay a pretty hefty price to use the unreserved rooms for the day is a great way for them to make money. Our day room cost us $250 for the day as well as the maid charges for everyone, electricity charges, resort fees, and taxes. I may have had a room in the Royal Tower for the day, but I could have booked a regular room in the Beach tower for the same rate had I not had 5 people in my party. The way I see it, I spent $480 at the resort for the afternoon, so I sure as heck was a full paying guest.

thanks for the info, but the comfort suite rate I have is only $164, much cheaper than the Atlantis.

did you have a blast though?

Hey believe me, I would have preferred to have done this, but I have 5 in my family so it wasn't an option!
And yes, we did have a blast. The kids really enjoyed the slides and the pools and we felt it as worth every penny that we spent. The kids still talk about it to this day and we love watching the movies of them going down the slides and through the shark tanks.
