Although this is an important issue, it's not WDW related.
I am going to move it to the disABILITIES Community Board.

I have heard the waiting lists for services for people with disabilities are so long in some states that people sometimes die before there is any help available for them.

Yes, it is true some people die while waiting. My daughter has been on the list since 2003. It will probably be another two years (hopefully); but with all the cuts to medicaid it may be longer.

Another problem, is that if you move (whether by choice or forced) your "slot" on the list is NOT moved to the other state. You have to reapply for their list and put at the bottom (no matter how long you may have had to wait already). It is very frustrating.
