Please can someone explain to me how to get Entertainment rate!

I understand that you have to buy a book of coupons....and then you can get up to 50% off universal hotel rates. So, once I've got the card/book do I just ring the hotel of my choice and they'll tell me what the discounted rate is? Will they have them yet for Nov 2003? Please help!

Just call and ask them what the Entertainment rate is for your dates. If the rates are out, you can book. It's so simple! For our RPH room, it was almost 50% off rack rate. Now I'm just counting down!

You can get more information about the Entertainment books and card HERE.
They have books for most major cities throughout the US. The card is good at all three UO hotels, no matter which city's version of the book you buy. In your case, the best bet would be to buy the Orlando book, unless you plan to be in some other USA city for more time during the next year. Alot of the coupons are good at national restaurant and hotel chains.
You do not have to have the card when you make the reservation, just when you check in. It is usually good for 50% off the "rack rate". I reserved a Bay View room at PBH that is listed for $285/night on the website for $170/night. The $20 cost for my card and book was more than saved back on just the hotel. We have also already saved over $120 with buy one, get one free meals at local restaurants.

OK, that sounds much simpler than I'd feared! We are travelling in Nov 2003, does anyone know when the Entertainment rates are released? Do you get a better deal the sooner you book, or the later you leave it? Is the discount good for just the 'standard' rooms, or does it extend to suites and deluxe rooms? Thanks in advance for all your help!

One more thing.......can I ring up before I get my book/card and book the room or do you have to have a membership number? I'cve just noticed that the 2003 book is only valid until 1st Nov and we travel after that date so will want to buy the 2004 book, but I'd like to book before then if possible!

The rates for the whole year usually caome out in the fall (in other words, they are already out). There are only so many rooms with the discount, so book as early as possible. Getting the Entertainment rate is not guaranteed. You do not need to give them any numbers, so it won't matter when your book expires as long as you have a valid Entertainment card when you arrive. They are good for many different room types, it just depends on what they have left at this point. Good luck!
