Please Answer :) Club level Portofino question

Hi everyone! I have a question I hope some of you can answer. I booked a standard room at Portofino and requested the west wing to be close to the main pool and boat transportation. We have been going back and forth on whether to add club level which the hotel tells me would be in the villa wing in a deluxe room for an extra $130 a night. The hotel also informed me I could stay in a standard room in the west wing and add club level when we get to the hotel which would be only $100 a night. We will be staying 7 nights so that's about a $200 difference. So my questions are.. how far would I be from the club lounge if we kept our room in the west wing? Has anyone ever done this and is it an inconvenience? Is the villa wing also close to the boat transportation? What wing do you prefer between the west wing and villa wing? Please any answers would be greatly appreciated.

We stayed in West Wing with club. Once you figure out how to get from West Wing to club, it isn't a big deal and I'd save the money.

You have to do some exploring to figure out the internal route or you can just go outside and through the piazza and up through the lobby to get to the club room.

Go with what damo said. It really does not matter in terms of walking distance to get to club room. I do find it strange that they will not let you add club to your rezzie. There are times of the year that the club attendance reaches max capacity and so you could be locked out of adding it at arrival. Give them a call back to check.
