Please allow me to introduce my students....

Hi All,

Looking forward to posting and getting to know you. Where is your favorite place to stay when visiting WDW and why? Mine is Saratoga Springs...

~Erika

Saratoga Springs was nice I stayed there as it was in the process of being completed. The only thing that was a slight issue for me was it was a little father from the parks so transportation took a little longer and the rooms were a little smaller. But as well know the size of Villas keep getting smaller and smaller with each one they build.

However I can't wait to try the new Villas at the Bay Lake Tower. What a awesome view it has of the Magic Kingdom especially at fireworks time.

Hello:

I am one of Dave's lovely students as well. I am a frequent flyer of the great Walt Disney World. I am fortunate to be apart of a family who is DVC member (Disney Vacation Club) for my classmates who may not know. We try to go every year.

My last trip was this past Christmas and as always the Holiday Season is amazing. The decorations and festivities and my favorite the Candlelight Procession at EPCOT.

In regards to the question earlier about my favorite place to stay it is a Tie between Boardwalk Villas and Old Key West. Boardwalk is located close to 2 parks and Old Key West Villas are very large.

My "Rap Sheet" of Disney Resorts Consist of the following.
- Old Key West
- Dixie Landings (aka Port Orleans Riverside)
- Beach Club Villas
- Board Walk Villas (Our DVC Homebase)
- Saratoga Springs Villas
- Disney's Grand Californian Hotel (Disneyland Resort)

Well I am done rambling now. And now my question for everyone.

What is your Favorite EPCOT Country to eat at?

ehaimanns236

Well...it depends what I'm hungry for, of course!

France is great for its bakery. And its mac-n-cheese. And its creme brulee.
I love the mushrooms at Rose & Crown (UK)
Enjoy the hibachi at Teppan Edo (Japan).

Guess those are my favorites inside the park...but to be fair, I haven't tried Tutto Italia or the new incarnation of Nine Dragons, nor have I eaten in Norway (except for their school bread).

How are Old Key West and Saratoga Springs? I'm not in DVC and I've never been to either.

We ate at Tutto Italia right when it opened a few years back and it was very nice had a great selection. Then when we ate there this past Holiday the selection was much smaller then before.

Price is always a concern and it was around 18-30 dollars a plate I believe but I am a firm believer in the Dining Plan even though it gets skimpier every year. We def got our moneys worth.

How are Old Key West and Saratoga Springs? I'm not in DVC and I've never been to either.

Old Key West was the first DVC Resort and the rooms are fabulous and extremely spacious compared to the other Villas that they are building now. As with Saratoga Springs Transportation to the Parks is more difficult than others because of the locations but for both its easy travel to Downtown Disney if your a fan of that.

Old Key West layout allows for lots of quiet pools as they are called which I really like cause there is hardly anyone there at the nighttime so you can relax in the hot tub or do some laps but thats pretty much standard at all those types of resorts that are spread out.

I am so excited to experience the Pop Century Resort cause I havnt been in a Studio style setting since Dixie Landing which will be awesome

:lmao:
Yeah, I went back in 2004. It's a wonderful resort, but isn't quite as well maintained as the American parks.

You got that right!

Plus the queuing issues make Disneyland Paris difficult. I mean it is a beautiful park, but it just don't feel as 'Disney' to me as Florida does!

Right now, our favorite meal in Epcot was Biergarten in Germany. That was the one place DH said we HAVE to do again on the next trip. We have not eaten at every place in the World Showcase - that's part of what I like about it, we look forward to trying new places and trying new foods when we go.

Hi, everybody!

I'm one of the students in the class. I've been a Disney fan all of my life, so being in a Disney World themed class was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. I have been fortunate enough to visit Walt Disney World about 25 times, Disneyland 6 times, and Disneyland Paris once. My favorite attraction at Walt Disney World is Splash Mountain.

I'm looking forward to checking out these forums as well as the Podcasts!

Welcome to the DIS. :surfweb:

I still need to do more eating in Epcot, but I love the little bakery at Norway.
I did enjoy Le Cellier, but it seemed to be sliding a little the last time I was there.
I want to get to Les Chefs soon, and the Rose and Crown.

Post on the DIS boards for College credit.. That sounds like a tough assignment!! I wish I had professors like Dave and Dave when I was in school!!

Welcome to the Boards Everyone!! You will find a plethora of Disney (and every other kind) of knowledge here along with great people.

Lifelong friendships have been formed here along with a few marriages. We laugh together when things are happy and we send prayers and pixie dust when times are tough. This is so much more than a Disney website and I hope you get as much out of these boards as many of us have and you stick around long after class is over!!

Since you asked my favorite resort is Port Orleans French Quarter and I still love LeCellier (I know it has gone down hill over the years but I still love it!!)

Welcome everyone...how cool to get to take a class like this. As for my favorite resort, I'm a Caribbean Beach Resort girl. I love the bright, bold colors, the little cay, and the lush feel of it.

Just curious: what did you think of the CM's in Paris????

The CM's were all fine. I actually got into a discussion with one of them in the line for Space Mountain because I was wearing a California Screamin' shirt. He was a coaster enthusiast trying to save up money to make a dream trip to America to ride roller coasters, which I thought was funny because we were on our dream trip to Disneyland Paris.

all these questions about favorites makes me feel like such an outsider...Teach me your ways!!

Teach you our ways? If we did....then we'd have to kill you. :)

Feel free to ask some questions of your own to all of the DISers - they'll answer....trust me.

Welcome students! as others have expressed, what a unique and fun opportunity to study disney!

favorite epcot country to dine in.....that's tough. I do enjoy the bakery in france and enjoyed Chefs De France, so it might have to win out. Of course Le Cellier is a favorite, but they don't offer much in Canada beyond that. I have Teppan Endo on my must do list as my next 'to try' restaurant!

Hello, there!

I'm Layne, a freshman and happy to be a student in the "Communication Around the 'World'" class. I'm a huge Disney fan, and have been to Walt Disney World about 25 times. My family tends to think of it as our second home. My favorite Walt Disney World attraction is Splash Mountain. I'm looking forward to posting on the forums.

Hi Layne. Welcome to the Dis!

My favorite place to eat in Epcot is by far LeCellier in Canada. It is pricey and alot of food but we love the place. Great steaks and service every time we have visited!
