We just returned from a spur-of-the-moment trip to WDW for 3 nights, and I was a little apprehensive about staying at ASMu again for more than 1 night. Our first stay here 3 years ago was less than stellar, and ended with DH saying "Never again". He relented last month for 1 night when we could not extend our OKW stay, and he did not complain(much). When I tried to book a short trip for the 4th, I could not get any moderate or ASMovies, so I took ASMu. The staff was wonderful (and I know from experience that someone else may not be so lucky) from the moment we checked in until we checked out. I had requested Broadway bldg., and had been assigned Country Fair(which we hated 3 years ago), so I politely asked if there was anything in Broadway. Not only did I get Broadway, but the 3rd floor, too, which we prefer(we are wierd). Anytime we needed anything, housekeeping was right there, from extra towels to new linens. On our way to the pool our 2nd night there, I realized we had left our towels upstairs(my kids are used to the resorts with pool towels), and was in the process of sending DD back upstairs for them when a housekeeper overheard us and asked us to follow her to a storage closet that she unlocked. She handed us 5 towels, even though we only asked for 4. Come to think of it, they always brought 1 or 2 more towels than we asked for. We enjoyed ice cream at the food court twice, and coffee and hot chocolate on check-out day. Youngest DD and I used the bus service from MK on July 4th, and arrived at the bus stop at 12:40 am. We did not wait but @ 5 minutes for the bus, and were in our room at 1 am! The only negative thing I can say is the laundry room by the quiet pool was too small, and the dryers do not work well. I did meet a really nice lady from Kentucky who shared her dryer with me when my small load did not get dry the first time. It is $2 to wash, and $2 for a 30-minute dry cycle, so bring lots of $$ if you must do laundry. It was quite crowded on a Thursday evening at 7 pm, and some of the people were rude(a man jumped in front of me to get to a dryer I was waiting on...and I laughed to myself when it took 3 dryer cycles to dry his clothes!). I was able to get the AP rate for the entire 3 nights, making what I paid comparable to an offsite room. I just wanted to post my experience for anyone on the fence about staying here!
