So I have a huge trip planned for 2019 and my mom is going with us and she will be 73 years old. She has a few stints in her heart and I know we are planning on taking a lot of breaks especially traveling with her and my two year old grandson. so my question is which month would be better late September early October looking for bearable humidity thanks everyone

Both can be very humid. There's not a whole lot of difference between those two choices. The later you go, the better your chances of having lower humidity - but it's not going to be by much.

Slightly less in October possibly but no guarantee - best to plan around the needs of your family as you're already aware - breaks, not overdoing it, not too long days will suit your grandson to.

Does she have good stamina on a daily basis or does she tire easily? My mom was about that age when she first had to start using an ECV in the parks occasionally due to stamina issues. She didn't want to, but after spending nearly two hours resting at First Aid just so she could make it to the exit of the park and back to our resort one day (I offered to rent a wheelchair just to get to the front gate, but she didn't want to), she decided to try it, and it made all the difference (especially at Epcot, due to the size of the park, and AK, with the uneven terrain). You might want to budget a little bit toward an ECV, just in case she needs one occasionally. Later, when her stamina issues were worse, we rented an ECV from an off property company so we had it 24 hours a day, instead of just in the parks, so that is an option for you as well.

Otherwise, staying hydrated and taking breaks will mean a lot. Schedule outdoor attractions early or late in the day, and shows in theaters with A/C during the hotter parts of the day.

As stated already both months are really not the best. These months are in hurricane season.

If you have flexibility I would choose right after Thanksgiving. The first week in December is ideal for less humidity. Now, it can be a little cooler in the morning or night, but a jacket will make that okay. If you go at this time you would have the added bonus of the Christmas holiday decorations and shows. Your mom would love the Candlelight Processional.

Neither. The humidity and heat can be ferocious right into mid to late October. If I were traveling with my mom, I'd aim for November-December, or March-April.

When we took my 70 year old mom in October she did ok. She took breaks or caught up with us in park if she didn't want to run to next ride. Towards end of week she was a little tired and stayed at hotel and relaxed alone. She was real happy with that. She is now 73 and I think she is done there.

My mom is 80 and we have been going multiple times a year for many years. As others have said there isn't much different between the two months but the later in the year the better chances of less humidity.

As you said, when I travel with her we take it slow and rest often. Head into stores to look around and cool off and make sure everyone drinks plenty of liquids. My mom uses a ECV now since walking around for long periods of time just isn't an options for her, but she still has a wonderful time. She still loves going on rides and we just make sure the CM slow down the rides/walkways so she can get on and off easier.

My mom gone to Disney with us the last two times and will be going this October as well. She travels everywhere else in the world with just a cane, but at Disney we always rent a wheelchair. Everything in the park is wheelchair friendly, she can easily keep up with her grandchildren then and it just makes everyone less stressed when we're trying to make an ADR or FP time. We leave the wheelchair outside for restaurants and some rides.

I am the same age as your mother. I have chronic fatigue and thought my Disney days might be over. One of my legs stopped working (dead nerve) so I used an ECV for my trip earlier this year.

What a difference it made. We now have our 3rd trip planned for December. We drive to WDW (9 hours), and I do half the driving. I have energy at the end of the day - when everyone younger is just beat.

I have a battery fan that attaches to my ECV. It helps so much with the heat. That and staying out of the sun as much as possible. Having a cup holder for my Yeti cup means I have ice water whenever I want - no having to get some.

We went with my mom when she was 72 in June 2011. We just rested when she needed it, she would sit with a wet cloth on her head to cool. Plenty of water. We did a lot of the more relaxing things - watched the movies in the countries in Epcot, etc. Did more sit down lunches.
One of the more relaxed, slower trips we've ever taken, it was wonderful! Have fun! :)

My inlaws went in early October a few years ago and they experienced 96 degree days. Be prepared for anything. When traveling to Disneyland with my 81 year old mother a few years ago, an ecv came in handy. She was very active, but I knew how tired we would be and could only imagine how tired she would be.

My mom and I usually do mid-late October but the humidity can still be high at times. ( Although, not all day, every day ). We went 2nd week of November once and she liked that better, said it was easier to walk around because it was a bit cooler and even less humidity than October. My mom is a heart attack survivor and has several stents as well.

Late September and early October are a week or two apart from each other - that's really no difference.

So we did a trial run for walking and having the same whether and we all came do the desicsion that my mom would be better off WITH a wheelchair or ECV

I know those particular weeks can make a huge difference in weather up north, but in central FL, not so much.

I'm glad you came to this decision about an ECV. It really will eliminate a lot of work and worry from you and will make your mom's experience better. When my grandma was in her early 80s, she started using a wheelchair at WDW (she's never had a driver' license, and we didn't want to test her driving skills in such a crowd, so we pushed her). It made all the difference in allowing her to experience what she loved so much. She would ride Thunder Mountain over and over and over interrupted only by a trip or two on Splash all morning until the lines got too long. If she had had to climb the hills in the area, she'd have been done after one ride.

Rent from an offsite company that will deliver to your hotel (it's cheaper and you'll alwTs have access). Get an ECV with a canopy to help with the sun. Attach a fan to it. The only reason I might rent in park is if I was staying offsite. We stayed offsite and rented an ECV for my DMIL from an offsite company once. Taking that thing apart and loading itin my trunk over and over was a bear. Stay onsite and just ride it right on to a bus.
