Plaza Restaurant

The Plaza is a must do for us every year--we usually do it as lunch on our last day of vacation. We've had everything from the salads to sandwiches. They are very large and very good. Be sure to get a shake and one of their terrific desserts (my favorite is the Hot Fudge Sundae).

I think we're the exception then. While it's reasonably priced if you are paying cash, for those on the DDP (and have been eating your way around through Epcot's World Showcase), the Plaza is a letdown. Kinda is a glorified burger place- very nice inside, very tasty, but if I want a burger I don't plan on burning a TS credit for one. You won't have a bad meal there, but it is just burgers, sandwiches, and salads.

We didn't dislike it, but we didn't go back this last visit and aren't likely to do so in the future.

I'm not knocking it, it just is what it is and no more than that.

We had a very similar experience as NJR; checked in 10 minutes before ADR and proceeded to wait with a large crowd out in the September heat for 40 minutes. Once we were led inside, we found about 1/3 of the tables to be empty, mostly fully of dishes and waiting for busing. There were three hostesses outside, doing nothing but occasionally telling walk-ups that there was no seating and only one poor girl busing the tables inside with a hand carried tub rather than a cart, and it was taking her three+ trips to clean and set up each table. A very poorly managed operation in my opinion.

That all being said, once we were finally seated, the waiter was very good and responsive, and the food really was very good. Yes, it is a burger and sandwich place, but very well made burgers and sandwiches (and very good milkshakes). We loved the decor of the place as well; good attention to detail.

I should add though, despite the good food, the wait and incompetence of the seating hostesses and management will keep us from ever going back.

I eat at there on Nov 14 along with my sister and my mom and we had a great meal there. My sister and mom both had the reuben and I had the club sandwhich which we all like. The service was great and we had adr for 11:55 and were seated at about that time. I would go back there again.

Just ate there Sunday night before MCMCP. We checked in early and were taken almost immediately to a table in the corner with no window view (for the castle lighting). We asked if we could wait for a window table and were told it would be about a 15 minute wait (that was fine since we were early). Our new table was dead center of the room. Food was great. Broccoli slaw is delicious. We all had different food (cheese steak, turkey club, Reuben, and one other meal I can't quite remember). It was all delicious. The ice cream sundaes are magnificent for dessert.

The German potato salad is no longer on the menu. I didn't care for the broccoli slaw but don't like it at home either soooo.

We enjoy the Plaza very much. For a couple years, the food seemed to take forever. The servers were attentive...it seemed like a kitchen issue. But that was not the case this trip.

What are the chances of walk ups for lunch or even dinner during early December?
