Plaza Restaurant for lunch?

Considering making ADR for the Plaza Restaurant for lunch the day we will be at MK. From things I have read, it sounds like it would be a nice break from the hustle-and-bustle of the park, in the air-conditioning of a smallish and therefore quieter restaurant. But, how is the food and the service?

The menu looked like it had acceptable food choices for my very picky DD, but I have not seen many recent reviews for this place. For anyone who has eaten there, how was it? And, what foods would you recommend (or not!)

We just ate there on 5/7 we thought it was good, my husband had the cheesburger w/fries and i had the steak sandwich which I thought was excellent, I am picky about sandwiches so this says alot. I am not a big fast food type person. The turkey sandwich we saw also looked very good. We skipped dessert we were stuffed. DD4 had the Kids Chef Salad- she loved it, she is a huge salad eater, put ranch onit and she will eat anything!!! The salad had tons of ham turkey and cheese in it, it was huge for 5.49.

The Plaza is the best kept secret in the MK. Shhhh! The food is great and it is a wonderful place for a tranquil break! We had great sandwiches and fries there. My husband and son had a cheese steak sub that they loved, and I had the best club sandwich ever!

Positive feedback so far, great! Looks like this place will be on "our plan"!

We go every year. I like it because its more upscale than counter service (although we love Columbia Harbour House) but something different than a buffet or somewhere pricey. I've gotten burgers and clubs, DH has had burgers and salads and kids like the choices for kids meals. Its a nice atmosphere and a nice break from the parks. We'll be there July 3rd - can't wait!

My family ate there many years ago now. We were having a frustrating day in the Magic Kingdom. It was hot and the lines were long; none of us were very happy. My dad decided to call a time out for lunch. The Plaza just happened to be the first restaurant we passed, they had available seatring so we ate there.

We ended up having a really nice meal. The setting was pleasant, the service was friendly and the air conditioning was heavenly. We had wonderful sandwiches, and my brother and I each got to order ice cream sundaes for dessert (ice cream at lunch time, unheard of!!!). We recharged during our meal and had a lovely day after that. I firmly believe that the Plaza Restaurant saved our vacation that day!

We love The Plaza and agree that it's one of MK's best secret's. We've had the burgers-good, the Rueben-Yum, the Chicken and Strawberry Salad-Great, Milkshakes-YUM and desserts-good.

The Plaza Restaurant.... Priceless!!

We wanted a sitdown and tried to join the walk up to CP, but the wait was over an hour so we just started walking. We too just came upon the Plaza and it was great!! We were seated in the little gazebo type room so there were only 3 families there total. The air conditioning felt great!

The waiter was wonderful. We had the wishes package so he walked us through the menu made sure we got all that we were entitled to. Kids loved that they got to have huge milkshakes, and loved the individual little ketchup bottles

I love a good Rueben sandwich and I see several comments about them being yummy in this thread so I know what I'll be having.

Well, I called and was surprised when I told them I wanted something around noon and she said she had exactly 12:00 available. So I booked it. Looking forward to that Rueben! Glad I read this thread or I would have probably never eaten there.

We were just there last week! We stopped in very spur of the moment and were able to get seating. Dd had the mini hamburgers (two of them and they were as big as a regular McD's burger) it was WAY too much food for a 4 year old, she and I could have split it and been fine! I had the steak sandwich and it was delicious. It's just salads and sandwiches but is such a nice break from counter service, we will definitely make PS's next time (or whatever it is they are calling them today )

We were far too stuffed for dessert though it looked great too!

I want to eat here so bad. We were at WDW last week and there was always a ton of people crowded around the Plaza. Their menu looks really good.

Is the menu the same for lunch and dinner?
