Hi,

Is this restaurant a counter service place, or a table service? I looked at the menu on AllEars, and it wasn't clear.

thanks,

KC :sunny:

This is a table service. The restraunt is very small but the portions were good size. Nice place for lunch on a hot afternoon.

I Also recommend the plaza. It's a good ice cream place and you can get a real hamburger there once you tire of the soybean burgers at the other places. DW and I always try to eat there on our last day/night in the MK.
:surfweb:

We ate here on our last trip and were pleasantly surprised. The portions are amazingly large and I think the next time we may share. It's a small restaurant that is table service but we'll go back.

Where abouts is the Plaza located? Good tip for next time. We thought there were no non-character TS restaurants in the MK at dinner hour.

Thanks!

When you're going down Main Street towards the Castle, turn right at the end of the street (where the Ice Cream Parlor is). The Plaza will be on your right.

Tony's Town Square is the other MK TS restaurant that offers a non-character meal at dinner.

We never miss a chance to eat here. It's a welcome stop on a hot day. :thumbsup2

Anther vote for the Plaza. Great shakes, burgers and sandwiches. Not too crowded at lunch either. It's at the top of MainStreetUSA next to the ice cream parlor.

can you orderr dessert only at this rest or get a sundae to go?

Awesome. I booked the Plaza this year. I actually had it booked last trip, but we had to cancel because we slept waaaay too late. LoL.

One of our very favorite places because it's excellent quality table service sandwiches (with a couple soups and a great salad with chicken, fruit, and cheese), PLUS ice cream. It's the perfect option when you don't want to spend $$$$ on a buffet or full service meal, and a wonderful switch from the fast food choices. When it's hot, it's great to be served in an air conditioned restaurant. We've tried most of the sandwiches and they're all good, and the German potato salad is a nice change. You can get the burger with cheese, grilled onions, and bacon at no additional charge. DH and I split the chicken salad and split a sandwich and don't have room for ice cream.
Wish I were there now. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We found the food to be really good but the service was unbearable! We won't return because although the food is delicious, it's not so extraordinary that it was worth being virtually ignored for!

We also had horrible service here. We went in and DH and I split a sandwich and so did two of my DD's. It took us forever to get waited on, and we watched while our waitress gave plenty of attention to the table next to us(each of them had a meal), while ignoring us. Needless to say, if she thought she was going to get a small tip from us, she was right. She got next to nothing! I think we'd probably try it again, but two times of bad service, and I won't return(at WDW atleast)..there are too many other places to enjoy. The German potato salad is very good, BTW!

We love the Plaza... Hubby and I eat there whenever we can... Just had lunch there yesterday as a matter of fact. It is a small restaurant (about 30 tables) and the service can be hit or miss, although we generally have decent service there. The prices are good (for a disney table service location) and the food is really good. I always get the salad (it is chicken, gorgonzola cheese and pears...or strawberries depending on the season...with a white zinfandel vinagrette...FABULOUS :thumbsup2). The ice cream is from the ice cream parlor next door so it too is great...

The Plaza restaurant is very good. We try to eat there for lunch at least once on every trip. The sandwichs and German potato salad are very good.

:cool1: We had a great experience at The Plaza when we were there in April. We happen to be the 100th table they sat that day, so the Mayor of Main St came in made a big announcement, presented us with a plaque stating this was our magical moment, took some photos of the family and let us have free desert.. Very Cool

Service here can definitely be hit or miss, but we still love the restaurant and the food. It's almost like it's the best kept secret in the MK.

We are trying this for dinner one evening on our next trip - it sounds great!
