Plaza Lunch after 12 noon???

I have read that the Plaza now accepts lunch reservations only through 12 noon. We would really like to eat there at 1:30ish as we have a 8:05 am Crystal Palace breakfast and will be too full to eat again at 11 am. Can we make day of reservations earlier by walking up to the podium or is it lunch only available after 12 noon as a walk-up only? Any help would be appreciated.

The Plaza only takes reservations from 11AM - 12 Noon. Period. No same day reservations
Everything else is walk up only now.
