How is the Plaza inn with Minnie at the Disneyland Park. Is it worth going to? we are staying at the grand californian this upcoming october. are you able to get access to disneyland before the park officially opens if you make an ADR.

any other info would be great! thanks!

We really enjoyed breakfast with Minnie - lots of characters, good food (fresh omelets - yum!). The restaurant is open before the park - there is a short cut through the stores, by the fruit stand on the right side of Main Street. There will be a sign there (small sign) that points the way and there is usually a hostess there (unless she's leading others to the brekkie) to show you the way.

We had the best time here - Mary Poppins, Tigger, Eeyore, Chip, Dale, Captain Hook, Max and lots more. It does get kind of crowded, but the characters make sure to stop at every table and interact with the kids. Great photos!

Minnie was there. We like doing Minnie's on a MM and book the last seating (around 10:30). That way, we don't feel rushed to make rope drop. We get prme ride time and then have a nice brunch. It's always works great for us. It gives us little extra time to get started in the morning

We went there for breakfast.

We won't ever go back again.

The character interaction was good. We saw Max, Hook, Minnie, Eeyore, Pooh, Fairy GodMother (my youngest DD reminded her of Cinderella when she was that age. :lovestruc ) Maybe a couple others, too - not sure, though.

The omelets were fantastic!

The mini croissants and bagels - grocery store items.
The fruit toppings for the waffles - frozen grocery store stuff.

We were very disappointed in the food.

Goofy's Kitchen, however, had a much bigger and better selection!

I would suggest either Goofy's kitchen for character interaction or one of the other places in the park for breakfast.

I disagree 100% with ScrapperKimmy. We did Goofy's Kitchen and had a horrible time, terrible interaction with the characters and the food was just OK. we did Minnie's and LOVED it!!!! We would definitely go back!! Great character interaction and great food. I loved the pastries!! :)

Minnie's at the Plaza is our favorite. We usually do 2 character meals during our stays and one of them is always at the Plaza. There are more characters and better interaction than any place else we've gone. The food is great (love the waffles and the cook-to-order omelets). We also like the we are already in the park for breakfast.

i loved both and didnt think any was disapointing but minnies i do like alot but i like goffys to just minnies better.
we had grate interaction (what is the earlyest that you can eat there?

The food stunk. One step above gross. Options were few and quality poor. And, it's not really a buffet - food is served in a cafeteria line. I wouldn't have made reservations if I had known we didn't serve ourselves and had so few choices.

Also, we hoped for a large variety of characters as other people had said and, yes, the number was sufficient but we'd eaten at Goofy's (which was much more our style) a couple days before and many of the characters were the same: Minnie (which we'd expected to be a duplicate), Geppetto, Max ... we waited and waited and waited for Captain Hook to come by and he never did. We were in the back room near the porch and at one point he popped in and visited the first couple tables but then left; when he came back he went straight to the outside seating. I finally found a manager and mentioned that we'd been there for 90 minutes - and our little guy was getting very antsy - and he eventually came after we waited and waited some more. This was well after breakfast technically ended so there were very few other customers at the time.

We'll try another character meal when we go back.

I have done both Minnies and Goofys. And there are things I like better about Minnies, and things I like better at Goofys. It just all depends on what you are looking for. At Minnies, far more characters and far more interaction. I love the theme/ambiance of Goofys over Minnies hands down. I dont recall much of the food from Minnies, but I do remember I prefered Goofys food over hers. It was nasty or anything, just more selection at Goofys. Lets just say Goofy is a better cook than Minnie. Overall, I would do both again.

at any charcter meal make sure to keep mintioning who has been over and ask who else there is. they usely make sure you see every one of them but you have to keep mintioning it. and I thought for brekfest food that i dont eat offten it was grate. goffys was a brunch and had more food i eat..i dont like eggs or pancakes or cerrieal and stuff but minnies had grate MEAT and potatos

No Minnie?

I don't remember seeing Minnie while we were there - but there are characters coming and going constantly, always someone new. My DS12 didn't really care if he saw Minnie or not, so we did not stay too, too long :rotfl:

We really liked it. We have never been to any other character breakfast. we were going to go to goofy's kitchen last week but we had a hotel room on harbor blvd and we didn't feel like walking all the way to the disneyland hotel. I wished I would of just made a PS at minnie's breakfast.

We found the food great. Fresh, yummy made to order omlettes, very good biscuits and gravy, great sausages and potatoes, everything I ate was great! Plus you get your own drinks which was nice, they had a lot of things in "bottles" like chocolate milk and juices which we were able to stick in the diaper bag on the way out and save for later.

The character interaction was wonderful, we sat outside and it was even hard to eat because we almost always had a character at our table. Eeyore and pooh came by more then once, and the character "manager" CM was always present in case we or another guest needed her. We also were one of the last to leave, which no one rushed us, even let us bring our HUGE double stroller inside the outside patio for our two babies and eeyore hung out with us while we were getting ready to leave.

Honestly we had such a good time, I think were just going to stick with this character breakfast the convenience of already being in the park is a huge upside too. I really recommend it.

I've never been but I always see people getting into a scrape when one says food is good and another disagrees food isn't good. I think that owes a lot to the inconsistency with mass produced food. You could literally get one day where the food is good, and another where the food isn't.

I think we must have been there the day the baker was sick and someone ran to the Super WalMart down the street to buy the baked goods & waffle toppings. ;)

But the omelet was yummy.

We've done both Minnie's and Goofy's Kitchen and I have to say I prefer Minnie's. First of all, I love being in the park and not having to leave to go to eat. We try to book a late breakfast (10:30) and make it a late breakfast/early lunch, saving us a meal.

Goofy's was good and we had good interaction with two characters, but the rest seemed to come by, pose, sign the book and leave again. I think it's so busy that they just have to keep going to make it to every table. I think the character interaction at Minnie's was much better.

From what I remember, the food at Minnie's was pretty good too. I liked that the beverages came in bottles, so we could take what we didn't finish (or extras for the diaper bag). Plus they had a coffee machine that would do mochas, etc. As for the poster who said they weren't able to serve themselves, it sounds like maybe you went on an off day because except for the made to order omelets, I served myself everything and took as much as I wanted.

Honey, I agree 100%. But I wanted to say, we go to character meals for character interaction. Not for the food. Our experience at Goofy's Kitchen was really bad because we were ignored by most characters, unless they were leaving or switching off. We were sitting near the back by the buffet entrance and the back exit, we saw about 4 of the characters that were there, we saw Chip a lot, he kept coming back and playing and Snow White was great, she remembered seeing us the day before at DCA!! That really impressed the girls...and me! lol The food was ok, but I really preferred the choices at Minnie's. Some were the same but Goofy's did have more selection. All the characters at Minnie's were amazing...we did not see Minnie but we did see a ton of characters we had never seen before. Gideon, Geppeto, Cap'n Hook and so many more. And again, Chip (and Dale) came over and were playing with us for the longest time. Chip kept stealing DBF's hat and putting it on his nose, it was funny. We would definitely go back to Minnie's over going to Goofy's. :)

We were just there last Thursday and had a good time. I booked it originally to be the end of our MM but it was moved to Wednesday. Did the 10:30 time and like that because we can do a lot on the park and then go eat brunch.

We saw Minnie, Pooh, Fairy Godmother, Eeyore, Tigger, Chip, Dale, and Captain Hook. The restraunt was fairly empty by 10:30 and the boys got a lot of attention from each character. I loved the Fairy Godmother! I asked her if she could make me tall and thin. She said "Honey, look at me. If I could, would I look like this?" Minnie chased the boys almost under the table trying to kiss them. Tigger boxed and played with them. Capt. Hook shook hands with his hook and then proceded to bug Minnie who was still with us. She would shake her finger at him. The boys thought it was really funny. Not sure if you usually get a ton of interaction but with so few people waiting for them, we got a lot.

The food was decent. WE have had better and much worse. Hope you enjoy your time there.
