I screwed up when I booked carnation café at 7:20 PM on June 6. Do you think that we will be able to ask for vouchers for reserve viewing for the second MSEP? Otherwise, dinner is way too late. Our lunch at Plaza Inn is at 1 PM.

Thanks!

I don't believe they do the reserve viewing for the second parade.

Thank you! Dang, I messed that up. I guess I'll set an alert to see if I can get a different reservation time for CC. Any recommendation for what time I should try to make it? There are 8 of us...so that makes it much more difficult to get reservations. If we can't get it, not a huge loss.

If you're willing to do the second parade I don't think the you need reserve viewing anyway so you could just skip the MSEP package.

This is correct. The second parade is VERY easy to get a spot to watch.

Thanks!! Our last time there in 2018, we staked out a spot for fireworks and projections maybe 90 minutes in advance, only to have some man put his child on his shoulders when it started. Do you think that it would be empty enough to avoid an issue like that if we line up like 30 minutes early for that second parade? And if so, do you have any recommendations about a good spot to grab like 30 minutes in advance? As I mentioned earlier, we are eight people. The youngest is 15 so no small children.

My friend and I found a great fireworks spot 15 minutes ahead of the show 2 Sundays ago. The crowds are not so bad that you need to scope out spots that early for either fireworks or the second show of the parade. As we left the parks around 10:40 one night (with a 10:45 parade time), there were numerous spots along Main Street that we could have stopped and stood or sat to watch the next parade.

I am going tonight with my kids to catch the first parade because last Saturday was WAY too packed to get a decent spot for it so we just left. Our plan tonight, since it's a weeknight/school night is to start looking for a spot around 8:15. I'd like to find a spot near Small World so we can hightail it out as soon as the last float passes by (it starts at Small World for the first parade, and Town Square for the second).

However, my general preference is to watch from near the train station or the Emporium. I like watching the floats make the turn. You should be fine looking for a spot 30 minutes out. Be willing to split up, though.

Aim around areas on Main St where they put up ropes such as in front of City Hall, they are often only one party deep. Shhhhh, don't give away my secret lol.

My 2 1/2 year old daughter will never make it to the second parade . How early would someone have to line up for the 1st parade? And did I read that some people lay a blanket down and only 1 person in their party waits to save space for their group? Is that still allowed?
