Really? Ice cream can't be a snack on the DDP? I just looked at the info for the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and it said NO dining plans are accepted! So ice cream here is always out of pocket... very disappointed! Was this always the case? Is there anywhere else in MK where ice cream is a snack on the plan? Also, does anyone have info on the actual ice cream at the Plaza? Ingredients? Just trying to figure out if it's worth an OOP stop....

The Plaza sundae is considered a snack. As is the ice cream sandwich.

Unless this is a new change, we have always used a snack credit at the Plaza.

I guess it IS a new change. I'm really (did I say this already?) disappointed!!

Just grasping at straws here, but maybe this is one of those things where the website is inaccurate? I know sometimes when they change the DDP from one year to the next, some restaurants don't sow as being in the DDP but they always are. Hoping this is the case. Although, if not, it's just making me happier about my decision to NOT get the DDP next April. Good luck!

Thanks, yes, I was going into positive thinking mode and reasoning that maybe most of the things they have are not on the plan but a plain ice cream cone is... but maybe it says "dining plan not accepted" because it's not really a restaurant and there are just a couple snack items there... anyway, I hope so. We'll probably just pay for our ice cream OOP and suck it up, it's not a tragedy, after all, but I would still be interested in knowing about the ice cream there if anyone has any info about manufacturer, ingredients, and the like...

It does show up here as taking the dining plan credit, Jody.

And I do see on the Disney site that it is not.

:confused3

Ice cream is Edy's

OMGosh! DAN, you are the BEST!
Thanks!
Going to look up Edy's ice cream stats now. (I don't think we have it here in Vermont)

From what I have come to understand is that all places where you can't use a MEAL credit has a note of "dining plan not accepted" because really, it's not....all carts and snack windows have that disclaimer....

Agree with the PP. Don't give up hope, and just see what happens when you get there. Its not as though errors on the official site are rare.

I posted this question about a month ago as well. There are ice creams here that count as snack credits. It says that because it cannot be used for a counter or table service credit.

You'll see the snack credit symbol here on the pics:

No worries. This is a known thing. You can positively get an ice cream here, it is not a YMMV sort of thing.

Thank you so much everyone!! I love the DIS. Such a "little" thing, but it all adds up! Knowing I can get my ice cream using my snack credits may seem like such a "not-big-deal", but for some reason it just made my day!! pixiedust:
