Playstation 2 games

Ok, we bought the kids PS2 yesterday. It came with an ATV game and we bought a Cabela's hunting game. Are all games difficult to figure out on those controllers? DH had a hard time maneuvering around. Mind you he is NOT a gaming kind of person. I was just wondering if most of the games are complicated? We considered XBox but the controls seemed so big for their little hands (9, 6).

I don't think your kids will have a problem figuring the controls out. It's us adults that have the difficult time. I don't have a clue how to use DSs(8 & 12yo) PS2 but they don't have any problems.

I have had many games consoles during recent years and I have found that the PS/PS2 controller design is easily the most simple to use.

Most games take a little getting used to before you can press all the buttons at the right times in the right sequence but keep practicing and I'm sure you'll be an expert in no time

It will just take some time to get use to it. I work at Toys R Us in the video game area, so I deal with this all the time. Personally you did the right thing going with PS2 as opposed to XBox. I probally would have steered you toward Gamecube given your childrens ages, but that is just me. Try and rent some games that are "easier" looking for them to get use to the controllers.

Nope, us gaming folks can figure it out lickety split. Kids will get it in no time.

I never played the games you mention but go for the role-playing games. You need to go out and get Kingdom Hearts and if you do buy the Strategy Guide. Then you can play!

It just takes a few times of playing to get in the grove. My 3 year old plays PS2 like a pro. He loves the Sypro games.

BTW, we have the Cabela's dangerous hunts and love it. Over Christmas vacation my husband and I became addicted to it!! Another good one for the guys is Ace Combat 04. You fly jet fighters. I don't like it, I'm no good at it. But the men of this family love it. Have fun!
