This is just a hint for all you parents who have kids that just got one of the bigger/nicer playmobil sets. We didn't know this the first year and as we DD's Victorian House sits with the glue drying I thought to post it.
The sets where the "main" part is built by snapping together lots of pieces which you will not move around later (dollhouse, castle, barn, etc.) can come apart pretty easily when the kids are playing--even if they are careful. And if a visitor comes and wreaks havoc
Once everything falls apart it is HARD to find all the pieces again and remember how to put it together (we once spent an entire weekend dumping every container of toys we owned trying to find all the castle pieces and then another one reassembling it w/o directions).
So, we now buy plastic model glue at the hobby store and glue the big items together. Bonus Hint, assemble without glue first and be sure you KNOW how it goes properly BEFORE you begin gluing
Also, if what you buy can be added onto (think the Vicotiran house which can have other levels added later) then obviously don't glue together those sections which would need to seperate for the add ons, but if you just have a few big pieces which can seperate it is much more stable and much easier to reassemble if needed.
Your kids will get substantially more use out of their playmobils if you do this, and you will be more relaxed
