Playgrounds

Hello

Our family will be staying offsite in March and were wondering if anyone knows of any good playgrounds in the area? We are staying at Orange Lake and their climbing apparatus (if you can call it that) really is terrible! We have looked before for a local playground, but many times they are in gated communities, and we aren't able to go in to use them, which I understand as we stayed in a gated community last year (with no playground yet built ). My kids love the local playground and really miss it in the winter. If anyone knows of any good ones in the area we'd really appreciate it!!

Look up the county (I think the city is Orange county--I forget the surrounding counties particular locals).

Check for county parks--you can also check for city parks. Usually a listing will include if there is a playground or not.

As an example--just looked at the Orange county website and they had search capability to list all parks that had playgrounds: http://www.orangecountyfl.net/dept/cesrvcs/parks/Amenities.asp?AmenityID=16

If you click on a particular park, you can get the address and location and they do have a map feature.


Just looked at a map and it looks like Disney area is Osceola (I should know that!!!)

You can also look up the cities/towns as well to get a listing of city parks that have the facilities that you need. Click on the parks to see if the locale is what you need and if they have playgrounds.

Don't forget that there are some awsome playgrounds with in the parks themselves too. That is a great way for kids to unwind and burn off some energy during the park day. There is also a play ground at Fort Wilderness near the HDDR that was used once.
