Hi all
I just drove I-95 and found an awesome playground at Exit 95 in Smithfield, NC. It is on the E. Booker Dairy Road (4 miles or less from the exit).
I had stopped at the visitors/info center (it's an old house that you see amidst the outlets right off the highway) to ask where the nearest playground was.
We had GPS so if anyone is interested in getting directions, please reply and I'll be happy to dig them out for you.
The playground is HUGE and has three separate play sets for different aged children. It seems it was on same grounds as a high school. There is also a nice running track (with restrooms but they weren't open when we were there). A huge covered pavillon also.
We stayed for 2 hours -- ate lunch under the pavillon while the kids played.
I recommend stopping there!
