How long for breakfast? We have done the lunch twice...both times 1.5 hours to see all the characters. I was thinking of making the earliest breakfast seating (September), but not if I'll miss rope drop.

We have done Play & Dine 2 times at 8:05 AM. The first time, June 07, it was about an hour & 15 minutes. DH & oldest DD left the restaurant about 8:55 to get to RnRC for FPs and to ride. Youngest DD & I stayed behind to see JoJo. The second time, a couple of weeks ago, we made it out right at rope drop. I suggest paying for breakfast about 8:30 then when you see your last character you can go. We kept waiting on our server so finally DH went over to the server's station and paid here there.

I agree with the above poster. It does take about one hour and 15 minutes to see all the characters assuming that the restaurant is crowded. We don't do the big rides so missing rope drop isn't huge for us (i think our first stop is usually playhouse disney show :rotfl2:)

We are doing the latest breakfast....that way we do not miss rope drop and we can collect some FP before we eat. I also hope to be able to get lunch food also for my grumpy teen who is OH so happy to do the playhouse Disney meal!!:)

I'd recommend around 10:30 for all breakfasts, especially if you schedule in the park that opens early that day.

You get the best of everything. You can go in early, ride the popular rides, get fast passes, then eat your breakfast with the restaurant starting to empty.

For instance, last July we had a 10:30 at play and dine. My bro and I went to the park early, rode TOT and Rock-N-Roller, then Star Tours. We could have rode those again if we felt like it. We then hung out on a bench until my wife, daughter and the rest of our group came to the park.

The restaurant was practically empty and the characters were constantly at our table. The kid's loved it! To boot, the food was still being brought out fresh and was very good.

From now on, all our character breakfasts will be at that time because you have so much freedom.
