Play Imagineer!

Not really a game but something I thought (hoped) my fellow DIS-ers would humor me with. I'm such a big Disney fan, and I love all the rides, but sometimes when I go on them, I just have the sudden urge to.........change them!!! Sometimes a little detail, sometimes a complete overhaul, sometimes a brand new idea for a ride. So I'm just wondering:

If you got to play Imagineer...............what would YOU do???

For me, I'd re-do the Journey Into Imagination ride.......again. I love Figment, and I think he deserves a better ride. He's such a cute character, and I live in fear that they'll get rid of him and his ride all-together because it's not very popular. If it was possible, I'd love for the Imagination ride to be totally interactive and individual for each person, because hey, isn't everybody's imagination interactive and individual? I would love the cars to just have lots of buttons to push and those would cause different effects in different rooms. Okay so I haven't totally ironed out just what I'd do, but if I got to play Imagineer.......this is the ride that I would go to first!

I would re-do that ride too. I think if Figment had a better ride he could be a much more popular character. I like your idea...I think the technology used in Pooh's Hunny Hunt at Tokyo Disneyland would be perfect for a ride about Imagination. That technology mixed with the interaction you mentioned would make for a really great attraction!

Another thing I would do is get rid of the Indiana Jones show at the Studios and put an Indiana Jones ride there. Obviously this would probably be wayyyy too expensive but I would expand on the concept at Disneyland and have three seperate rides in one. When the stand-by and fastpass lanes merged you would get to pick your desire - fortune, eternal youth, or the ability to look into the future (kind of like Dueling Dragons when you get to choose between fire and ice) - and then the three rides would be completely different adventures. The fortune path would feature lots of fire effects, the eternal youth path would feature lots of water effects, and the future path would feature lots of wind effects. The ride vehicle would be like Dinosaur but the tracks would all be very different.

Another thing I would do is have a whole new Star Wars attraction. Star Tours is just so dated. I think they could have an amazing 3-D ride (like Spider-Man taken to the next level) based on Star Wars.

Ooo, yay, I'm not the only one who thinks about this!!!
Your ideas are much more complete than mine! A+ for creativity!!

I could see the Figment ride also having a 'gun' set up like Buzz and Toy Story, and if you wear the glasses, you could like 'paint' on the walls and things. I know I would LOVE to be able to just decorate a big white wall any way I liked!

I think an Indy thrill ride would be very exciting!

Star Wars would be spruced up a bit if there was a way to feel like you were 'steering' or assisting with the flight somehow, kind of like the joysticks on the Mission: Space ride.

I would also like to see a 'scary' ride, like The Mummy ride over at IOA. Maybe doing a haunted house that's actually scary, not just silly like Haunted Mansion (love my favorite ride, don't get me wrong) but they did SUCH a good job with it, I'd love to see current Imagineers and technology unleashed on another 'haunted' concept.

I'd also love to see something akin to GMR, but with JUST Disney films. Sort of a tribute to 'classic' Disney films. There's so many excellent films that don't have a ride or any tribute.

I'd like to see more Soarin' films. I think one filmed all around the world where you got to fly over like the Grand Canyon and the Taj Mahal and other famous world locations would be neat. Even doing it like a Peter Pan flight to Neverland would be interesting to see.

I'd also love (and I know this can't happen, I'm just dreaming) to have a park where they move rides that have gone extinct. I know Disney is always evolving and changing and that's what keeps it fresh, but sometimes I'd like to go back and ride Horizons or Mr. Toad (and yes, I know about YouTube) again. Also, rides that I never got a chance to ride, like the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride. I would TOTALLY attend a 'Forgotten Disney' park!

I think the great movie ride could be soo much better. ITs a great concept but it needs more. Maybe actuall people instead of audio-anamatronics.

i wish they would have actual people narate the green house tour int the LAND, I liked it better that way.

Maybe also in all the ride with some of the original audio anamatronics like splash mountain and peter pan they could replace them with ones that move more and are more realistic.
