Platinum upgrade includes Club/ Conceirge?

Hi All...

I am platinum in in Loews First, among other hotel programs. Some of my other programs allow complimentary access to club/ conceirge lounge given the platinum status. It seems that Loews doesn't specifically state that their platinum status offers this. Has anyone with platinum status at Loews (and other hotel programs) have any success in getting club lounge access at any of the Universal hotels? I am not looking for an upgrade to a club level room, but just access to the lounge if possible (my other hotel chain programs give this as a platinum amenity).

Not at the Universal hotels, but when we stayed overnight at Loew's Philadelphia for New Year's, my gold status got us upgraded to the 35th floor w/beautiful view of fireworks on the river. We were assigned one room at check-in and 2 seconds later, the guy took our roomkey pkg. back and just said our room had changed. We had been assigned to 4th floor. Really a neat surprise! On the other hand, I had already booked club level at RPR last month and asked about any suit upgrade for gold mem. None was available.

We were upgraded to a suite at the time of reservation because of DH's Platinum Loews. I booked a standard room and received this great upgrade for PBH. We had a choice of a deluxe CL room or a suite. You should not have a problem getting free CL with Platinum Loews.

I think it all depends on your rate. Each of the hotels has a minimum rate for club level and if you are paying less than that rate they charge you an upgrade fee in the amount of the difference. I am Platinum and one time at HRH I was paying $139 APH for a garden view and was told I could have pool view for free, a suite for $35, or club for $60. When I asked why $60 I was told that $199 was the minimum rate for club level. I was also told that if my rate wasn't so low, I could have had the suite upgrade for free too. There have been times at all three hotels where I have payed discounted rates and gotten suite upgrades for free but they always want me to pay to upgrade to club.

I was recently told when trying to make my ressie with platinum that you can no longer pay the diiffference from a suite or deluxe room to club. you can only reserve club, pay for club, and get club. I tried to reserve because we have now 2 platinum members and would like 2 suites but with club privledges but unfortunately our choice is either suite with platinum or pay to reserve club. This was for PBH.
