Ok so we was thinking of an adult only trip next June,
As it will be my 30th and our 2nd honeymoon after our vow renewal we want to do something special and different.
So we're looking at split stay with the platinum plan,
We know it's alot of food but that's not why we want it.
I've always wanted to do

The safari at AK
Cirque de solai
V & A
Parasailing
Dolphin encounter
Behind the seeds tour
The magic Kingdom tour's
Driving experience
And spa :)

With the plan you get unlimited tours a fireworks cruise, spa treatment each and driving experience, plus characters in flight and carriage rides.

So we would do 3-5 days at Akl on the platinum plan,
Then either a mod or Aoa with the normal TS plan.

Has anybody done this was it worth the money it's $256 pp a day I believe.

The only way to work that out is to crunch the numbers. How much out of pocket for all the tours and meals you want and how much on the plan. The Disney website lists all those things except I think parasailing but the prices for that are on the Sammy Duvall site. It sounds a great adult trip idea, but I'd do the maths to get it the cheapest way possible.

Doing the sunrise safari at AK would be a good idea, (if you're staying Club Level) especially since it will stop operating at the end of the year. (28 december 2014)

So it's this year or never.

If you mean the non club level safari, then please ignore my remark :)

With only having the plan for a few days (3-5 you said) I really think you would struggle to get your moneys' worth. There is no way you would be able to fit in everything you've listed in your 'always wanted to do' list plus the extras you mention. You would have to do at least one tour and one activity/show per day to make it worthwhile, I believe. And I still think you would be better off paying for things separately.

As scoobydooby says, you really need to crunch the numbers.

It is a few years out of date, but my experience is that you can do this and get great value from the platinum plan if you plan in advance!.. My family did it when you only needed a one-night stay (not the current three days) and it was valid for the fourth day beyond check-out. So check, before you start booking things, about the expiry time.
Key to success is NOT staying at the AKL for the three nights. You need to be central to the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT to get the most from the plan and be able to a) use monorail, b) maximise the signature restaurants for meals; c) easily fit in the spa visits around other activities; d) be close to TTC for quick free ride to the motor circuit; e) make use of the Sammy Duvall offers; and f) utilise both the Wishes and the Epcot firework cruise offers.

I would recommend staying at the Contemporary if your budget will run to it

I'll post again with what we did over a 1 night platinum plan -- it will blow your mind!

Cast -- single mum and two late teen boys:
Dolphins at Epcot
Sub-Aqua at Epcot
Segway at Epcot
Epcot fireworks cruise
Motor circuit at speedway
Cirque de Soleil
Facials or massage
Sammy Duvall -- parasail, doughnuts, and speedboats
Signature meal at YachtClub
Signature dinner at Contemporary
All other meals

This was a two night stay and two night payment for platinum plan (correction from previous post when I said it was one night -- have now looked at my planner!)

Sorry for the late reply, we have a new puppy who is very tiny and demanding all my time lol.

Wow you got alot done in those few days! And this is how we was hoping to do things.
So I actually think with 4 days we would be fine to do our list,
We won't concentrate on anything park related except to get to the tours,as we will have 9/10 days afterwards to do all those things.

Thank you so much for your help :)

Ok so I've looked at prices and having done a fireworks cruise last yr already know that dinner at a signature and the cruise only on one day Comes to more then what the plan costs for that day...and I get to add a tour in to boot.

So after looking at what we want to do it actually works out pretty good value,as long as you eat signature and fit at least a tour in the morning and 1 of the other activities in each day.

I believe if I was to pay for everything seperate then I wouldn't do as much as what I would by getting the plan and doing as much as I can,
It's the same for me on the ddp I would eat cheaply and only do a few nice meals if it was all oop when I got there.

With this in mind what tours did any of you enjoy the most?

If you are going to do it make sure you book parasailing for mornings - in the summer they get shut down most afternoons by weather :thumbsup2

Tours - we have enjoyed everything we have done although we haven't done any for a couple of years. We have done KTTK, Dolphins in Depth, Undiscover Future World and Backstage Magic :thumbsup2

We have a new puppy too so know how much work they are ;)
