Platinum Peeps -- 2 Questions

1). How far out are you getting your suite upgrades for 2008? Got mine for 4/28-5/3, but couldn't for 10/2 - 10/7. For the record, I asked when they would become available, but the reservationist didn't know that they ever would. Hmphh. No suite, no visit for Mike and Jodie. So there.

2). OK, I know it says on the LF site that Plats get a late check out if available (I am pretty sure this used to be guaranteed). But, the first time we stayed at HRH, one of the managers told us that since we were plat, we were guaranteed a late check out, and she would just note it in our file; no need to call. Now (as of 12/2), they want us to call on the day of check out to see if we can secure it. They want us to call between 7am - 10am on the morning of. Duh. I don't want to wake up to call to see if it's available. I just want to know the night BEFORE whether I have it or not. I want to know ahead of time how early I have to pack and if I can sleep in on that last day. What are your experiences with late check out (provided you have paid a qualifying rate)?

Just call the hotel directly and ask for the room mgr. Tell them that you are Platinum and Universal Reservations is telling you there is no suite upgrade available. They will usually apologize profusely, mumble something about reservations, and put you in the suite.

As for late check-out, I have always asked the morning of, so can't help you there. Although I have never been turned down yet.

LF Platty here...Late checkout - I call at 7AM...it is what it is...

The LF bennies used to say guaranteed late check out under plat but now says:
3 hours beyond the regular check-out time, if available.
