Hi!

What is the Platinum Pass price if they are purchased at Busch Gardens TAMPA?

I cannot get the website here at work!

Thanks!

A platinum pass bought at Busch Gardens Tampa or Seaworld Orlando is $429.95

If bought at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, it's $299.95.

If bought at Seaworld San Diego, it's $259.00.

If bought at Seaworld San Antonio, it's $199.95.

They are all the same pass (except that the preferred parking perk may be restricted to certain parks. Free parking everywhere though).
My Platinum Pass bought in Orlando gives me free preferred parking in Orlando, Tampa, and Williamsburg, but only free regular parking in San Diego and San Antonio).

However, I believe (but am not 100% certain) that the pass has to be activated at the originating park. So you couldn't buy a Williamsburg Platinum Pass online and use it in Tampa without first having activated it at Williamsburg.

That is the theory, and that is what they tell you online, however since the other parks have seasonal closings, they allow the passes to be mailed out. And those are already "activated", rather than printing a voucher to later turn in at the window.

Most your perks are for your "home park", meaning the park the pass was originally bought for. But many people say they've still recieved the same perks at other locations. But usually monthly or during the summer, there's special coupons that can be printed or mailed out to you for your "home park".

I think part of the reason the pass is so much more expensive here is because there's 4 parks to go to in easy reach. If you're out in San Antonio, well there's only one park and closed during the winter months (so i've heard). The two theme parks are opened all year round here, and the water parks operate for about 10-11months out of the year.

try buying through sesame place website, super grover pass
it is the cheapest with same benefits as other passes

I believed super grover pass is valid till the end of the year, the platinum passes example above are for 2 years.

I'm trying to determine what park I should buy my families' two year EZ pass from.

We currently live in NC (near BG Williamsburg and their waterpark) but we travel to Orlando every year (sometimes twice). We are hoping to make a move down to the central Florida area permanently by Summer of 2011, giving us access to BG-Tampa/waterpark.

We'll be back in Orlando this summer and want to do Sea World, Aquatica, etc. We may possibly do BG-W this coming Easter weekend and the waterpark in Williamsburg over the summer. I am interested in discounts in all the parks especially Discovery Cove if available. The ride again feature sounds great as well but not sure if that is only for Sea World, etc.

I'm thinking we should purchase our platinum passes from Sea World Orlando even though it will be more expensive. Can anyone here verify if this would be our best bet or should I go the cheaper route and get them from Busch Gardens Williamsburg?

Thanks for any help!

Go for the platinum pass in Williamsburg. It's almost the same exact pass as you would get here.

The significant difference, is the seasonal "coupons". certain ones are designed for your "home park". But your basic perks, like free parking, merch/food discount, that's all the same across the board.

Your initial contract is for 2years, but if you purchase on the EZ payment plan, you will forever be locked in at your current rate. After the 24 months, you're on a month to month basis and can cancel your tickets at anytime after that. Just remember, you won't be able to get the same price again.

Let me pose this question. I will need 4 tickets & we do have family that lives in Virginia. But would most likely go to Orlando parks. Would it make sense to buy 3 of then from Wiliamsburgs, then puchase mine from Orlando since you would get a few other perks at the Florida parks?

Just a thought.

Sure if you think the perks will outweigh the significant increase.

My friend has a platinum pass, and he got a special coupon card in the mail. I don't recall everything that was on it, but it was some cool stuff. Maybe some one can tell you what it contained.

Although there were a few "passholder exclusive" discounts at various places, and it didn't matter which pass you had. Like last year, they did All day dining at Aquatica for kid's price (1/2 off). And there was just a sign up in front telling you about it.

I'm kinda in the pickle myself at the moment. I'm thinking of ordering a san antonio pass, which will be cheaper than my 4 FL park pass. But I'm not quite sure I want to give up my fl perks. But if I go for a platinum pass, it'll be 3$ more. Because while I should be saving the money now, I'm looking at this as a long term investment, for who knows how many years down the road.

I don't live near any of the parks but will attend several over the course of the next two years which makes the pass attractive. So, I should go with the cheapest, right? San Antonio though is the one we are probably never going to go to. Would it still make sense to order it from them and have them mail it?

Just found this thread and wondering if anyone has actually activated a Sea World San Antonio platinum pass in Orlando. The website says, "Platinum Pass must be redeemed at SeaWorld San Antonio before visiting any other Worlds of Discovery theme parks (excluding Discovery Cove)."

No other SW, BG or Sesame Place site make this statement.

Ready to buy my platinum pass too, and wondering the same thing.

And.. just to confirm.. the grover pass is the same as the Platinum Pass? I live in PA and could actually drive there for the pass and activate it.
EDIT: Nevermind.. just read that the SGP is only till the end of the year. I would want it for the 2 years.
