Have you been able to get your suite upgrade using the Super Saver rate? I think you can, but I just want to be sure before I change my HRH AAA rate of $242.10 to the Super Saver rate of $215.

Thanks!

I would say "yes" based on the fact that the "super saver rate" is a published rate that is available to everyone. I would however call to make sure just in case.

I called them just now, and they lowered my rate to $215, and we still get the king suite upgrade with our Loews Plat. Over 5 days, we saved $150. :)

AlexandNessa,

who did you call to change the rate? This is exactly what I was planning on doing! lol

I just called the same # I used to make the initial reservation: 888-273-1311. The reservationist just verified the rate and lowered it for me. I kept my same confirmation number and all other details. :)

We got the suite upgrade on supersavers. I called Loews. Make sure you have them email a confirmation of your new rate. Portofino had no record of me changing my rate (although I did it twice) and were going to bill me for my original rate.

Where is the supersaver rate located?

If you are eligible for the supersave rate, it will just come up with the rest of the regular rates. If you aren't seeing it, then it isn't available for your dates.

I wonder if I can switch my Stay 4 Play Free rate to the Super Saver? We booked a Garden View & have upgraded to Deluxe King with our Loews Gold.
With the Super Saver rate, it will be cheaper to get the $75 tickets.
AlexandNessa, we'll be there the same time as you!

Why, yes! $150 = approximately 30 beers! :)

Michelina, when will you be there and at what hotel?

DH & I will be at HRH from May 3rd-May 7th. It will be our first time there, we've stayed at RPR twice before but wanted to try something different.

We'll be arriving on the same day then. :) Mike and I have several stays at the RPR, and we too decided to try something new this trip. Here's to both of us liking the HRH! :goodvibes

So it comes up when you are checking rates on the Universal website? If it is available?

Just wanted to add that I was able to get the Gold upgrade to Deluxe King with the Super Saver rate :thumbsup2 I'm pretty happy cause we started out paying rack rate of $349 for the room and now we're paying the garden view rate of $215. I had to buy our tix but we still came out ahead :).
ETA: The reservation agent wasn't exactly on the ball and kind of tried to fight me on this. I basically told her exactly what I wanted and wouldn't listen when she told me that it couldn't be done! She tried to say that they couldn't give an upgrade on a discount but I knew that wasn't right.

Good for you. I think we know more than the reservation agents most of the time. There are a few really good ones though who know their stuff.

The one who wouldn't give me an upgrade was named Justine.

I had one named Cassandra and one named Pat that were very good.

I always write their names down too! I spoke to Melissa today. The funniest thing was when she told me that she couldn't tell me the Super Saver rate for my dates because "we can't get online for you" but once I told her what the rate was she put me on hold so that she could verify that it was correct!

My only real concern is that they properly apply the first deposit that I made ($392.63) to this reservation. I tried a few times but she could not tell me the amount of deposit they were transferring to this new reservation. :confused3

never have found any super savers for october when i go.

this means i have to do a may trip .........also.

Michelina, I don't have my agent's name in front of me right now, but she was very good when I changed my rate. I told her exactly what I wanted to do, and she said she just needed to verify the rate online for me, which she did quickly. Then I told her it was my understanding that since the super saver rate was a published rate available to everyone I would still qualify for the King Suite upgrade. She put me on hold for a minute to verify, and said she would issue me a new confirmation and made sure all my requests were in order. No problems at all, and I did get my new confirmation with the new rate for the King Suite, which I have already printed to take with us. So, I guess it totally makes a difference which rep who get and what kind of day they're having!

Also, when I have changed rates before at Universal, they have refunded my original deposit and charged me a new deposit with the new rate. The never charged me a deposit for the first one, so we'll have to see when/if they charge me this time. This happened to me last May as well ... I always get charged a deposit when I book via phone, and I didn't that time either. :confused3
