Has anyone in their past trips purchased the Platinum Add On plan?

I am getting married in Disney in September and we are considering this plan as it seems "luxurious" but I wanted to know if it is worth it.......are there any benefits to this plan versus paying for things on your own? Are there benefits to being on a platinum plan?

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

At first, DH and I wanted to go all out and get the Plat package, but then after comparing them with the others (at the Disney site) we figured that we wouldn't have time to do any parks and that we'd lose out big time if we didn't do at least 85% of what is offered in the package.

We ended up choosing the Silver package for next year. We still have time to change to Gold according to our agent because we are doing a renewal in Sept 2005. I recommened just looking over what you get you get in the Plat package and see if you will be able to use all of its services. See if all of these things can fit into your intinerary. If so, then great, but if not look into one of the smaller packages like the Silver. Good luck!

You may want to consider doing the Gold plan. It has almost everything the Platinum has, there is really very little differance except for the price. The few things the Gold plan doesn't include can easily just be charged to your room card, and you can settle the bill upon check out. The few things you might do that isn't included in the Gold plan wouldn't make up the cost differance for the Platinum, I would think.

Congrats on the marriage!

Congrats on your upcoming wedding:D

For our wedding/honeymoon we used the Silver Plan and loved it.
Last Jan. we tried the Gold and loved that too. Both times we saved $ by doing the plans versus booking separately. It's just the 2 of us, and we liked all the running around and sit-down restaurants.

This upcoming Nov. we wanted to try the Platinum - but we can't afford it for the full time we're down there! So we booked the Silver Plan at POR with the 7/5 special, and booked 3 nights at the Poly Platinum. We also booked 1 night room-only at POR between the plans and 1 night at POP room-only at the end (probably a bad idea, but our flight leaves at 8 am, so we'll save the $ on the room). We wanted to just try 1 night on the Platinum but you have to do at least 3.

We wanted to try Platinum for the following: massage (we've never had one), fireworks cruise, Victoria and Albert's, Dolphins-in-Depth, and the Aqua Seas Tour. None of that is included on the Gold. I priced it out, and we *should* come out ahead of what we spent. The other differences between Platinum and Gold are the itinerary planner, preferred viewing for Fantasmic, turndown service, and a snack per night (like we'll be able to fit that in!!). These are nice, but not the main reasons we chose to try the Platinum Plan.

We've heard from our itinerary planner, Marilyn, and she's wonderful:D She's booked what she can for now - the tours and Cirque- and has the rest of what we want listed and ready to go when the PS can be made.

Our itinerary for those 3 nights/4 days is absolutely jam packed, but I think we'll be ready to not spend as much time in the parks after our days on the Silver Plan.

If you're looking for a relaxing honeymoon while at the same time getting your money's worth on the Platinum Plan I don't know if it would be possible!! But it's worth it to look into it at least to see if it would be worth it for you.

HTH:D

I booked the Plat plan for my husbands 40th birthday in November and a 5 years delayed honeymoon. We decided when we booked that we wanted no worries, unlimited access to all WDW had to offer and luxury accomodations. We also decided that we would ruin our trip if we tried to focus on getting the most for our money. We came up with an amount we were willing to spend at WDW and booked a plat package up to that amount. We've planned dinners and events that we never would do otherwise, including V&A. This is a once in a lifetime trip, that's what a honeymoon is right? It is certainly extravagant, nobody really needs to stay platinum but if you really want something very special I'd say book it, relax, let your platinum planner do the work and don't look back.
