Platform Beds

I really love the look of platform beds and am thinking of buying one. Does anyone have one and can tell me about your experience with it? Likes and dislikes? Thanks in advance!

Frankly, I think they're uncomfortable. I would need some kind of mattress topper or something, for sure.

We have one and I love it. I like not having to have a box thing.
We do have a nice mattress over it.

My only suggestion is to make sure that the platform part of the bed is made sturdily (is that even a word?) and, especially if you are getting a king size) that the support footing in the middle of the bed is well made (i.e. not plastic)

I had one for years, and I loved it. Very, very comfortable with just a mattress.

Do I need a special mattress for a platform bed or will a regular mattress work?

We have a regular mattress. I thikn it's a sealy or a serta w/ a pillow top... nothing special. It's a personal preference thing.

i love platform beds, you can move freely. and its a bit more comfortable to use.
