One of my local radio stations is advertising to husbands saying that "women want to feel good about themselves", and that husbands should consider buying gift certificates to a spa/plastic surgery group.

The commercial isn't specifying the spa treatments, either. That I would get. They are suggesting that a wife would want lipo or wrinkle reduction laser surgery.

To me, this seems a little bit nuts. Would husbands actually do this? Isn't this saying to someone "Merry Christmas, you're ugly"?

I can't help but think those advertisements should offer a buy one get one discount for the hotel the husbands are going to end up in after offering their wives Plastic Surgery under the tree. Please tell me no guy is that foolish.

This reminds me of that shoe commercial on now where the woman is counting all the people she is going to make happy with a Shape up sneaker gift. Brooke Burke is saying she's going to give her sister a better keister and her husband a better her... uggh... who writes this stuff?

If I had talked about having a procedure and I received that I would be okay with it- I think! I joke around sometimes and say I'm going to get plastic surgery and my husband always says he will divorce me if I do. I doubt I really will have any kind of plastic surgery though.

Now if I had never mentioned surgery and received this for Christmas I would be a little upset. :scared1:

My wife is obsessive about the wrinkles around her eyes and has been talking about plastic surgery for years, but I keep talking her out of it. She is a beautiful woman who just can't come to grips with the fact that we are middle aged. We are supposed to have a few wrinkles and gray hairs.

She is a Type 1 diabetic, so no surgery is without risks. I hope that she never insists.

I would love for my husband to give me this. Anything from a small procedure to a total overhaul would be happily received by me.

Depends on the wife and whether or not she has mentioned wanting to get any of these procedures. It is certainly not something you want to spring on her if she has shown no interest in it.

I would love to get plastic surgery done but I do not have the money to do it, so if anyone were to give me a gift card for a procedure I would be quite happy about it.

I also accept cash, check, money order or PayPal if anyone is interested ;)

Oh I would love if my DH gave me this. Who wouldn't want their wife to have double D's?? :lmao: Seriously it wouldn't be the gift for me. I am more of a diamonds type of girl. But I am sure there are wifes out there that would be happy for this type of gift. Now that I think of it maybe I will ask for a breast lift now hahahaha

I would love a spa day!

and I wouldn't mind a little srugery either.....perhaps some Botox. My DBF says I am fine but as a woman I think I am ok but it would be so decadent to be able to have a procedure done. I would love to have the girls lifted!

Same here. I have sunken-in eyes that I HATE. It is genetic and I would kill to get rid of them.

Here are some new Christmas songs.

"All I want for Christmas is my 2 DDs"

"I'm dreaming of Lipo for Christmas"

"I want rhinoplasty for Christmas"

:rotfl:

You are a good man. And no, a few less wrinkles isn't worth the risk.

We go to the gym, well we did. lol. Anyway there was this woman, she was probably 60ish. You could tell that she worked hard on her body, it wasn't perfect by any means, but lets just say that she looked better than most 35-40 year olds. YOu could tell that it was pure hard work on her body, then you got to her face, Bless her heart (I am from the south). She looked like she got stuck in a wind tunnel. It totally ruined her, she looked silly, and she would have really looked great had she not done that to her face.

I wouldn't have a problem with a gift like that, it would let me know that dh has been paying attention to my complaints about getting older :)
Now, if I had never commented on how I would like injections, or a nose job, and he just gave me a GC for that and said Merry Christmas, thought you might want to do something about those wrinkles I would have an issue.

If it was something the wife had mentioned wanting to do, I think it's a great gift. I know a couple of women who would like to have a couple things done, but feel guilty about spending the money on themselves, so they don't. This would be a way of taking away some of the guilt.

If the husband is doing it just because he wants his wife to have a flatter stomach or bigger tata's, yeah, then it's tacky.

Oh, and I'd like smaller ta-tas.

My back is starting to hurt all the time. Again, it is genetic. A gift to fix that would be a life-changing moment. My medical doesn't cover it until something more than just simple pain is created.

personally, i would LOVE such a gift, if my DH could afford it (which he can't). however, i've had gastric bypass surgery and lost 190 pounds, so i'm not the typical woman to ask. i've got LOTS of loose skin that needs to be removed, and a breast lift/implants and tummy tuck would be greatly appreciated. but honestly, i never want to have surgery again, if i can possibly avoid it.

Haha...I've heard those commercials and I told my DH I wanted lipo! Just a joke (although I could use it, just a little bit! ;) ) To me, that is a very expensive Christmas gift. We usually only spend about one hundred bucks on each other!
