What is the official name for these and where did you get them? I am going to go to a sporting goods store tonight and check, but thought I would check here also. I am looking for the kind to basically hold about 10 dollars and 4 room keys.

Also, do they have them at the Wilderness Lodge?

Nurse, I don't remember specifically seeing them at WL, but we were at Typhoon Lagoon this past weekend, and I know they sell them there. In fact, they had them in many different vibrant colors and I believe two different sizes. I would imagine they sell them at Blizzard Beach as well.

I think they're called plasticholderssoyourthingsdontgetwet.

I saw them at the Walmart when I was there, but they were not any good. They were cheaper, but also made cheaper. After that experience, we purchased them from either BB or TL.

I just bought one @ the Poly this month. It's called a Surfsafe & was $6. I'd imagine WL would have one there as well, probably w/ the WL logo, as mine says Polynesian Resort.

Wouldn't have the first clue if they were a safety issue on the water slides or not, I'm sure someone here will know or a CM could tell you.

We call them waterproof cases. I've found them at sporting-goods stores, scuba shops, and yesterday at REI (camping store) near the kayak stuff.

They are also tons of them available at TL and BB, so if you dont get one before your trip, dont worry. They have all diff colors, a TL or BB logo on them, and both the big size and the small size (much better for us since it doesn't get in the way so much) at several shops at both parks.

Do you take the hotel refillable mug to the parks with you, so you can refill on your way back to your room? If so, the last time I bought one, the bottom of the cup came off, giving you just enough room to slide some things inside. We never take them to the park, but at the hotel pool it's helpful to hold the room key and some snack cash. :thumbsup2

We just bought one at our resort, Port Orleans French Quarter (6.95). I wore it everywhere at the water parks. On the big slides I would just tuck it down the top of my suit. One word of caution though. It has a break away neck strap so it can't strangle you and I lost it at the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon. The lifeguard found it and turned it in, so no loss except time in retrieval. The lifeguard had to give it to his supervisor who had to take it guest services before I could get it back (even though I identified it directly with the original lifeguard), must be a security issue.

I bought one at one of the water parks a few years back and it works very well.

I have seen them in the hotel gift shops as well.

For an "official" name, I think they're called Beach Safes. For a more recognizable, descriptive name, yeah, I'd go with Wooden Eye's "plasticholderssoyourthingsdontgetwet". Try Oriental Trading, although I don't think they have the rectangular ones. Try REI.com - I know they had some last year.

Are the ones from BB or TL really waterproof? We were going to buy them a couple of years ago and the CM told us he wouldn't use them in the wave pool. He said they were water resistant but might still get wet inside. I really wanted one I could not have to worry about how wet it got. Thanks.

Just an FYI, make sure that it is closed and not just look closed. I bought mine when on the Disney Magic and we used it at Typhoon Lagoon in April. Well, I got off Crusher n' Gusher, after riding all the choices, and when I got back to my seat realized that all my stuff was wet. They are waterproof, unless you forget to close it.
