Oh I want one too! We will be flying back to California with it - anyone know if its an issue crossing state lines with this or is in exempt?
I would ask. I know I was over at Universal a couple of years ago in that shop in the Hidden Continent. They had the cutest money tree plants. I wanted to bring one home to a coworker who is a plant nut. However, they had signs on the shelves where they were sitting, saying they could not be transported by air to Texas, New Mexico, or California (basically any state that touches Mexico). I did ask and was told that the airlines would take it. The following May I was at Epcot for the Flower Festival and saw one of the venders had the same money plants. They did not have a sign on them, so I asked the vender, who said she didn't think it'd be a problem and she thought the law may have changed. I told her I'd probaby be back on my last day to get one then. The next day I was back over at Universal and walked in that same gift shop I had originally seen them in a few months before. The sign saying they could not be transported to Texas, New Mexico, or California was still there. I told the CM what the Epcot vender had told me the day before and asked if maybe it had changed. She said she didn't think so, but would call someone and make sure. She did and came back to tell me it had not changed and that if I bought the plant I would lose it at the airport. A few days later I was in the gift shop at AKL and saw the same plant in cute little animal planters. I decided to ask again. I took one to the cashier and asked. She said as a matter of fact they did have a short list of states that they could not be transported to and she thought Texas might be one of them. She said no one ever asks, so the CMs usually forget to say anything. She looked under the counter, found the list and sure enough the states were Texas, New Mexico, and California, just like the Universal CM had told me. Even after I asked, the Epcot vender said it fine and was going to let me buy one.

Now I don't know if that restriction is for all plants or just certain ones, but I know the money plants are not allowed to be flown to those three states. That same trip I asked another vender who was selling orchids at the Flower Festival about flying with one of them and she looked at a list and told me I could not fly an orchid to Texas either. Since then, I have not even asked about any other plants. It has something to do with our states being connected to Mexico I think.
To OP: yes that is a kalanchoe. Alot of people use them around here for house plants, patio plants, or in their cactus gardens. They are considered a succulent I believe and are very easy to grow. When it gets a little older it will have tiny red, pink, orange, or yellow flowers. At least they do around here. I have a pink one and a yellow one on my patio. I got mine at
Walmart's, not Epcot though. lol Other than watering them once a week or so, I never do anything to them, except bring them when the weather gets colder. Here's some pictures of them with their blooms:
