Plantar Warts - Uggghhh!!!!

I had one in high school and nobody ever told me to file it down as it grew out, so it just kept growing, and growing, and then it got caught on my jeans as I was putting them on and the whole thing, root and all, came out. The hole was SO DEEP it just kept bleeding and bleeding for weeks afterwards.

Hope nobody was eating anything, reading that story. ;)
Ewww! I had one in high school as well and had it frozen multiple times - never worked - so I finally had it cut out and that worked and it hasn't come back (and it's been probably 8 years or so). I think I got it from being barefoot at dance class a few times, but when I was in college I wore flip flops in the shower religiously (even the year I shared a shower with only 3 other girls) and never had an issue.

My dd had one several years ago. We had not dealt with this before, but after a little research I used Apple cider vinegar (got the death started) and then oregano oil. The thing shriveled and fell off within a week and a half. It was a bit bigger than a pencil eraser. No mess, no fuss. Other than the smell of oregano!

I have had them at various times in my life. I am the only one in my house that has ever gotten them. Various methods have been used to remove them. The last time, they were cut out, and boy was that unpleasant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks goodness they haven't come back since that time.
our ped told us my son had plantar warts so i went to a dermatologist and he told me it was molluscum. Had us use this stuff called molluscumrx (which you don't need to a prescription for) and we LOVED it!!!!!!

Back in the 80's my son had many on his hands. They did laser surgery to remove them. I felt so bad it left some of his fingers looking horrible.

I thought I had one. Put off seeing a doctor way too long. It HURT so bad, like a rock in my shoe all of the time. When I finally saw a podiatrist, she told me it was a clogged sweat gland. She cut it out right there in her office. She told me that I'd have to come back every 6 months to have it cut out and DANG, she was right.

I think I'd rather have a wart that could be treated than this thing - she said I'd probably be dealing with it for many years.

I had multiple plantar warts when I was a teen. My doctor told me to use a nail file to file them down, then apply some kind of acid...ACID...that he gave me to kill the root. Can you imagine the pain of applying acid to what was essentially an open wound???? It was horrible. I did it a few times and gave up. They eventually went away on their own. I think I read once that plantar warts are self-limiting and will eventually go away. Wish I'd known that in the first place!

I had one on my big toe in elementary school.

Still remember that nasty thing. My mom tried several things but eventually it went away.
