This is my first time on this board. (Never even knew it was here but thank goodness it is!)

I have a question on the care of a Robusta/Burgandy plant. I just purchased it at the local grocery store and do not know if it is a sun or shade plant, how much water it needs, etc.

Please help me so I do not kill it! Thanks!

Hi POLLY ANN, and welcome to the F & G board! :)

I'm not familiar with a Robusta/Burgundy plant, and am having some trouble finding info on it. Is it a house plant? Does it look anything like the plant pictured in the following link, Take a Peek ?

Let us know, and hopefully one of us can help you out! :)

Kim :)

Oh, snowwark, it's just my luck that that's not the name!! That was the name that was on the paper that was tied to it. I just assumed that that was it.

I wasn't able to see a picture on your link, it just says hosted by angelfire. I don't know how to explain it either, other than it has very thick green leaves on it, and stands about 2 1/2-3 feet tall (maybe shorter, I didn't actually measure it).

If you can get the pic up or even send it to me in email, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Let's try another pic POLLY ANN! :) Your description of very thick green leaves fits for a type of Fiscus - "Elastica Robusta".......BUT, I may be leading us down the wrong garden path!! LOL! :)

Let's see if they'll let me link - This Picture!

Okay, I can see that one, can you? Does it look at all like your plant?

Kim :)

OOH! I LIKE that plant!

Sorry, I'm no help.

Yes, that looks like it! Except mine has even darker leaves on it and doesn't stand that tall yet! Gee, could it be? ;)

If it is, how often do you water it and does it need sun?

Thanks!

Kim, thanks so much! I'm going to bookmark this website for future questions.

I believe that the plant I have is the one listed. I like the fact that it is "indestructible"!! That's my kind of plant! And, also nice to know that I don't "have" to have it in the sun.

Thanks again! :D
