Plans for getting to SSR from POP, sound OK?

We are going to WDW in October. Since we have a late flight on Saturday and do not arrive until midnight, we are staying at POP (using ME), then at SSR for the rest of the week. We won't have them bring up our luggage, but will carry on what we need. The next morning we plan to go to Bell Service at POP and have them transfer our luggage to SSR. We plan then to go to a park and transfer to go to SSR and check in, knowing our room likely won't be ready but at least we can get our room keys, number to call, etc.

Anyone see any flaws in this plan? We'll also be using Garden Grocer again but will likely just have them leave everything with Bell Services at SSR. Any faster way we can get from POP to SSR?

Take the bus from POP to DTD and walk to SSR. You'll get there faster than if you go to a park first.

I agree but the buses to the parks generally start running earlier than the buses to DTD. So it might turn out to be "faster" to use a park as the transfer hub rather than DTD if the objective is to get to SSR as early in the day as possible.

Thank you both. Going via DTD may well be an option. I had not even thought of that! Not sure what our plan for that day will be since our flight gets in at midnight. We may want to get up early and get going but DD (age 16) may want to sleep in! So we may set our plan depending on what time we get up and going.

I would check into the hotel before going to the park, that's just the way we do it, and we think it helps us get a room faster, sometimes, about 30% of the time, we find a room is ready before 10AM, even, and they've been good (for us) rooms.

Since you're using ME (and leaving your luggage w/bell services all night anyway) could you get "SSR" tags for your luggage....and have your luggage go directly to SSR?

WOW what a good idea. We are doinga similar thing. spending one night @ all stars before BCV. If we couldl eave the luggage off at BCV it would be wonderful.

we are doing that in august pop to ssr and me said no way on the tags for ssr. we have to have them transferred, but no problem in doing that. we will pick up our bags at ssr if they cannot get to our room. other disers said you have to be in your room to get the luggage from bell services. good luck. it would have been easier to get ssr tags but again no such luck. also have to book to me, because cro is taking one and dvc is having theother ressie.
