Hey guys! I have been working on this trip for what seems like years now! Next week, I have to start making my PS or ADRs, so I'd like to finish up the planning this week. I don't have much yet and would love some input on just these first three days. As I get these figured out, I'll ask for more. Thanks in advance!

Day 1, Sept 2, 2005- Friday- Will have to meet DSister to get DNeice for trip. I will be off today-yay. DSister will not let DNeice be out of school all day today and all next week, so we will meet about 1 1/2 hours from me. They'll probably leave their town at about 12:15- so that puts me picking her up at about 2-ish. I'll get back to BR at about 3:45- will head to pick up DS form daycare and then to get DH from work. Hoping to get on the road by 4:30 which is the time DH gets off work. OK, we'll then start the fun drive from Baton Rouge to WDW!! We will drive to Lake City, FL and spend the night at the Ramada Inn- ressies already made. Dinner will be on the road @ someplace cheap like Wendy's. Hope to make it to Lake City by 12:30 AM. DS sleeps well in car and DN can sleep in the 3rd row if she wants.

Day 2- Sept 3, 2005- Saturday- Up and at 'em by 7:00AM- we are all morning birds other than DN, so I really expect us to be up early, plus we'll be so excited! We'll have the cont. bfast at the hotel and be on the road by 8:00AM! Should be no more than 4 hours to WDW- hope to arrive by lunch- about noon. We will have snacks in the truck, so no plans to eat lunch on the road today. OK- here's where I'll need your guidance:
We'll check-in at BWV around noon-ish. If the room is ready, great- we can go throw our stuff up there, if not, no biggie, stuff can stay in room. Go tour the hotel- get a pizza from Spoodles to go. Explore hotel more and have groceries delivered. Rest, maybe take a dip in the pool. Dinner will be at either Chef Mickey's or Whispering Canyon. The kids will get a kick out of WC, so we will go one day, but just not sure which yet. What do y'all think?

Day 3-Sept 4, 2005- Sunday- Magic Kingdom Day! I know people say not to do MK first as it's all down-hill from there, but the kids would kill me if we didn't go see that castle! Plus, we can stay here every day for all DH and I care- we really want the kids to have fun. Breakfast will be in the room- cereal, toast, juice, etc. Plan on the earliest lunch seating possible at CRT (don't think we'd like the bfast). Then back to room for nap and/or swim. I expect us to be back around 1 or 1:30, which is about when DS naps when we are out and about at home, so I think that'll work out great. It'll take him 30-45 minutes to calm and sleep, but he'll sleep a good 2 hours then. So, around 4:15 he should be up and at 'em again. I'll cook an early dinner tonight which will probably be spaghetti as it's easy and quick. I will probably go ahead and brown the meat for tacos for later in the week as well. We will go back to MK for a while, depending on the park hours- hopefully there will be a show or we can catch the parade- plan on snacking in the park as well.

OK- so what do you think so far? Thanks

The only advice I could give you would be the time between check-in and the time you actually get your room. At the DVC resorts, check-in is at 4pm. Rooms could be ready before that, but usually not. Sometimes, they aren't ready until sometime after 4pm depending on how much turnover there is that day. Because the BWV have mini or full size kitchens, it does take additional time to clean rooms.

So......if you get there at noon, you may be able to check-in at noon. It could be a 4-4 1/2 hour wait. What we did when we stayed at BCV in Jan was go to MGM and then come back and move in at our leisure rather than sitting waiting around for the room to be ready. Our room was actually ready around 4:15pm ,but we moved in when we got back to the resort around 6:00pm. It prevented us from watching the clock waiting for our vacation to start.

I don't know if you want to add a park day to your ticket media....getting in some good pool time might be a good alternative as a way to pass the time. Or throw in a trip to DTD.......

Otherwise, your plan is fine. Let us know when you have more days planned.

Thanks for that tip. We do have plenty of ticket time and with the MYW tickets, I wouldn't mind adding anyway. Do you think MGM or EPCOT would be a better way to start? Ds will be 3 & DN will be 10.

MGM.....it has plenty for everyone. Playhouse Disney, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast.......RnRC, TOT, the new stunt show..GMR....lots to do. But easy to get in and out of.

I am wondering if on a Saturday will MGM or EPCOT be better? I think DS will lvoe Playhouse Disney and all of the shows, really. Should I go ahead and make dinner ressies for Fantasmic then or make them for Chef Mickey's instead?

OK, here's an update. Not as detailed, but I'm trying my best to just get the food part worked out so I can make our ADRs. Then, I will get down to the nitty gritty! This is copied from another post of mine, by the way!
Hey gang, I am having issues, as many are, with my itinerary. I started off this week really well, making my 90-day ADRs and then, bam, the week just got away from me and I don't know when to go where and what to do!
Here's the scoop: Dh (30), DS (3), DNeice (10), and I (30) will be going to WDW Saturday, Sept 3- Friday Sept 9- staying in a 2 BR Villa at BWV. We are DVC members. We'll be driving from Baton Rouge, LA, leaving Friday, 9/2, at about 4:30-5 PM. We'll drive to Lake City. FL and have a ressie at the Ramada. We have 6-day premium tickets and don't plan on visiting any park on Friday, but could add a day, no biggie either way. Here's the rest so far:

Sat, 9/3/05- Wake up about 7AM, dress, get free b-fast and on our way- hopefully by 8, 9 at the latest. I think it's a 3 1/2 hour drive to Orlando from there, so we should arrive by 12:30 or 1:00 at the latest. We will try to check in- already have tickets, so doesn't matter too much if we can't. Plan on getting lunch at Spoodles Pizza or whatever- really flexible here. May go to the pool or to EPCOT- just depends on everyone's mood and energy level. (IE, is my 3-year being sweet or does he need some rest?) We do have 6:00 Ressies for Chef Mickey's. We tend to eat early, but I was worried with timing for any earlier today.
Sun, 9/4/05- Magic Kingdom today! Have a 12:00 ressie for CRT. No other plans at this point.
Monday- 9/5/05- MGM day today. Not sure it will take the whole day since we have a little one. We will be doing naps/breaks, so we can go back at night or not. I'd like to do Fantasmic, but not sure if we should do it tonight or we dhould hop over to another park.

Tuesday- 9/6/05- Typhoon Lagoon Day- we'll probably get there early as opening. Ifigure we'll stay there until about 2. Dont' know what to do here. We have the tickets and could go to a park, also thought of doing Whispering Canyon tonight. We want to do it some night, just not sure when.

Wednesday, 9/7/05- AK- again, not sure how long a day this will be. So far, I'm thinking we'll go early have an early lunch at Rainforest and then see whatever else. We have $50 in GC for them and kids will love it, so we for sure want to eat there. Should we make ressies- how slow is slow enough not to have to? We could then go back and nap and have dinner in villa that night. Then what? Maybe EPCOT for night time. This could be a late night.

Thursday , 9/8/05- MK day again- hoping for Spectro and wishes tonight
OK, I know there's not a lot of EPCOT here, but I'm leaning to that on Saturday and Wednesday evenings. I do want to do the night shows- fantsmic, spectro, wishes, etc, but with no schedule up yet, have no idea how to plan for this. Any help is appreciated!

UPDATE- Just got off the phone making the rest of our ADRs- looks like it's busier than I thought as my times were taken on some. But, still got them all, so not too bad!

Sat. 9/3- 6:00 Chef Mickeys
Sun. 9/4- CRT @ 12:00
Tues. 9/6- WC @ 5:30
Wed. 9/7- RFC @ 11:15
Thurs. 9/8- CP @ 5:10

I didn't do one for MGM as I just can't decide on doing lunch or a Fantasmic DP- I'm leaning to the DP at Mama Melrose- what you y'all think?
