Plans changed -please help me decide

we rented ponts for 1BR villa Jambo House because we were taking our grand children to WDW in December 11-16. Well now their parents have decided it may be better to wait on bringing them after the fiasco of our mini vacation this past weekend.

So now it is just DH and I staying 5 nights. We normally stay 6-7 nights but wanted to cut back since grands were going. But now I want to add a day to the front of our vacation so I am planning to book a room/ticket maybe club level if available.

So will I have a problem with one magic band having tickets and the other magic band opening our dvc room? I have never split a stay before so advice is appreciated. Also, I was thing about the cash room/package being somewhere else like Boardwalk, wilderness lodge, or yacht/beach club. Do you think think I should stick with AKL or mix it up and try another resort?

Also, is club level worth the additional cost? Which club level do you prefer?

Are there normally room discounts during that time? I am adding dining plan to DVC room.

Also, when to CHRISTMAS party tix go on sale? I have never been.

From what I understand you need to decline the second set of bands and keep it all on one. You shouldn't have any issues.

There were room discounts during this time in 2015 as we used one during that time.

Mixed reviews lately on club level service going down everywhere. WL is under construction and club level is affected.

The second set of bands will be my DVC rental reservation-the dining plan is added to that one. Is it pretty easy to add that reservation to my cash reservation? Sorry for the questions- I am not a newbie to Disney just to split stays and renting dvc points. Thanks for the help.

Nothing is actually ON any magic bands - they connect to MDE. So as long as your tickets are all linked on MDE both sets of magic bands should open doors and be able to access tickets.

That said, if you don't WANT two sets of magic bands, you can certainly decline the second set.

I like club level but I don't know if I would do it for one night and if I weren't planning to spend a lot of time at the resort. To me, it becomes really "worth it" if you're there for breakfast and dinner apps for several days, but that's just my opinion.

I'm confused though - do you already have tickets and dining plan? If so, maybe do the first reservation as a room only (with whatever discounts may be available) and then add a day to your tickets when you get there (the downside being that you wouldn't be able to make FP+ reservations for all your days). But it would probably be cheaper than doing a package with tickets and dining for the first night).

Not normally, as long as both sets are tied to the same MDE account. But having said that, I did find that only the MB that had been programmed for me by the CL staff actually worked in the elevator and to open my room. That may have just been a glitch, but worth noting if you are staying CL.

For one night, I would stick with the same resort just to make it easier.

Value is subjective. I like CL and have stayed at quite a few. Each time was at a discount. The most recent was in an AKV CL studio on DVC points. Very nice and I would stay there again...on points.

Yes, there are normally room and package discounts at that time of year.

Also, when do CHRISTMAS party tix go on sale?
Tickets went on sale in April in 2015.
