Planning Weddings for those Not-yet Engaged!

Hey girls :) Leaving today for Minnesota...blech. I am ready for a trip to Florida!!

Dbf and I were talking yesterday...about Weddings!! We agreed we would like to get married next year...and he thinks that a proposal longer than a year is too long:cool1: So crossing my fingers, but I think a proposal is coming soon!!

That's awesome! :goodvibes

I'm trying to see if I can take DBF to WDW this June. I really wanna make use of that 4/3 deal.

That's fantastic! Do you think he's planning the proposal during your Disney trip? Or sooner? Regardless, we're gonna want details when it happens

That 4/3 deal sounds really good. I wish we could afford to make use of it this year. I hope you can take your DBF this summer :goodvibes

Remember how I mentioned that DBF and I were going to try to go Disney for our anniversary next year? Well, I've been thinking that since I'm already going to Disney in January for the half marathon we might as well plan to make that our trip. It will save us money in the end (I won't have to pay for 2 roundtrips or 2 hotel stays and I also can get a discount because of the marathon.) Unfortunately DBF is a Debbie Downer and isn't fully on board for it yet.

Do you guys know if once I book something and pay the deposit if I am able to change it later? I'd assume yes, but I've never booked a Disney trip before so I have no idea. I ask this because I figured once I get my tax return within the next week or so I would book 10 days/9 nights with 8 day park hoppers just so I can confirm I have a hotel (the days around the marathon sell out quickly.) If in the end we can't make it a trip though I'd have to bump it down to 4 days/3 nights with no park tickets. Or we might have to cut it down to a shorter trip. Anyone know if that would be ok? :confused3

Just checkin in to say hey! Arelys - I'd definitely try to get him to go while you're already going...and just extend the trip...soo much cheaper in the long run!

I'm soo excited for my trip...only 3 months left...

Where do you stay when you do the race.... I am going to register to do it and I want to book my hotel now... thanks

That's what I told him! Plus I really want him there with me at the marathon. My parents and little sister live in South Florida and they are planning to drive up to be my cheering squad, but I'd like DBF there too.

 I bet you are excited! Do you have a pre-trip report or anything? How have you been feeling lately?

I plan on staying at one of value resorts, hopefully Pop Century. All the hotels have transportation on the morning of the race so that isn't an issue. You can either call Disney directly or go to this website to book. The only thing with the website is that I think you have to get a whole package, you can't just get a hotel. Are you planning on making a trip out of it or are you just going for the marathon?

ETA: have you signed up yet? Have you decided on a finishing time? You're doing the half, right?

Hi girls (and guys too?)
I was just wondering if I could join you all?
I have a DBF, whom I've been dating for 2.5 years. We're both 20 years old. :)

DBF has mentioned many times about marriage, but right now we're in college so the timing isn't quite right, although I think it'll be sooner rather than later.

Hello! Welcome to the club! :goodvibes :welcome:

It's nice to see someone close to my age, hehe. I feel like the little one. :rotfl:
I'll be 20 in June and DBF will be 18.

I've been doin 'ok'... definitely ready to have this baby!! The high risk doctor released us, she is now growing beautifully, so that was wonderful news. I've gone to the dr a couple times and they had to stop minor contractions, been dizzy n had ALOT of pressure, but I think I'm just too old to be pregnant anymore, lol.

Welcome Piglet!!

Hey ladies! How are you guys? Hope everyone is well :goodvibes

Welcome to the group pigletgirl

raysnkaysmom - sorry I didn't respond earlier, I missed that this thread had updates! Glad to hear you are doing good and that the high risk doctor released you. I can't even imagine how happy that must make you. :rotfl: I'm sure you aren't too old to be pregnant!

So about that Disney trip DBF and I hope to take next year...looks like we're aiming for April again, despite the fact that January makes sense. :headache:

Aww that's too bad. January is my favorite time to go. If you avoid Easter, April might not be so bad.

I got home Friday night from Minnesota...looks like I am done traveling for a while. Traveling to train our employees was physically and emotionallly draining.

Big news!! Dbf suprised me and took me RING shopping last night! We both fell in love with one and I found out he has basically save up money for it already! He's just waiting for the right time. YAY!

I love going in January, but April is nice too. The other good thing about going then is that our actual anniversary is on April 16th, so it would be nice to be there on the actual date to celebrate. Easter Sunday is on the 4th, so we'd miss it completely. Plus we'd have more time to save and by that time we would have more vacation time at our jobs.

That's awesome! If you can find a picture of the ring on-line, I'd love to see it!

This is it although the picture doesn't do it justice!! It looks a bit tacky in the picture and in real life it just sparkles. And there also doesn't appear to be such a clear space between the circle of diamonds and the center. Maybe someday I can take a pic of it on my finger!!

Hi Ladies.. how is everyone.. got some kind of good news...

I am watching Disney Dream Weddings on We, and DBF came out and said what are you watching so I tell him and he said, how much is it.... and I said I don't know I would have to look... so after a few minutes DBF says to me " why don't you try to figure it out so we could maybe plan something there"...

Yes my Jaw is still on the floor.... I could possibly be a Disney Bride!!!!!!....

I love DBF so much...

So I went to Disney's website and it is kind of confusing... can any of you try to explain it to me... there is a minimum expenditure... I am assuming that is everything must total that number, everything being Ceremony, Floral, Food, Drinks.... and also it says we must have so many hotel rooms on site....

OK so any help would be great... I will let you know if anything more comes of it...
