Hello all!

My fiance and I, along with both sets of parents are headed to Disney next weekend for our planning session...I can't wait!!!! :yay:

Does anyone have advice or pointers for our session...or any specific questions we should ask? I already have my list of questions, but wanted to hear any suggestions.

Also, since I am having such a difficult time communicating with our planner, do we taste the cake at the tasting??

Thanks so much!

This is just me, but both sets of parents may be too many ideas if you know what I mean and may complicate your decisions- I would talk to them before going so you all have some idea of the kind of ceremony you and fiance would like, because while it is fun, when we got to the flower part - it was tough I had no idea how much anything was and I was a nervous wreck- BTW my wedding is the day after yours- 11/10/06

I loved the cake tasting, but again- make sure that you pick what you guys like and do not be influenced by what your parents want you to have. I know this is hard b/c a lot of times they are paying. This goes back to my bridal shop days and girls who would bring 9 people to try on gowns, they could not make a decision b/c there were too many opinions.

I would go with ideas in advance, music selections, color swatches, flower ideas. Good luck- you will have a great time!

Have a great time!
We will be there next weekend getting married

We had all ofthe different types of cakes and fillings to taste test, that was the best part!

Bring lots of pictures and lots of ideas with you, it will be a blast!

Good Luck!!

ok I might be wrong but you should request the cake tasting, we had to in Nov. Your planner should have asked you the types you wanted to taste. To be safe please contact her asap and request one because that was the best part and I would not want you to miss out.

Then I say bring loads of pcitures of dresses, colors, flowers, food, decorations, you name it and you should bring your inspiration. If you have swatches of dresses bring those as well. That helpd for floral decisions. If possible think of questions you have and bring them with you. I did that and brough about 30 questions along. My planner was thrilled and let me go right down the list and answered it all for me.

Most importantly - ENJOY IT and take it all in. Sweetie it will go by so fast and for me it was so much fun. I want to go back adn relive that PS all over again. Have a great time and good luck.

Cheeks605, put your cake flavors and fillings request in now, if at all possible. I wasn’t sure what sort of cake I wanted so I left it up to Disney. At my cake tasting, they gave me the "top" requests for both flavors and fillings. It worked out perfectly for someone like me, but might not be the best plan of attack if you have already determined what you want.

I wrote about my FTW planning session in great detail in a trip report here on the Dis. If you want to see what I went through, skim through it. Here's the link: click here. At the planning session with me were three of my girlfriends. We had a ball.

Enjoy your planning session -- you will be amazed at how quickly it flies by. And congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I hope it is everything that you ever dreamed it would be.
