Have never been to Disney Land and was wondering if 3 days is enough to do both parks ? We are going for my DD 's sweet 16 there are no little kids only one that will be 9 and tall enough for everything . We are also planning on Magic Mountain ( We have season passes to another 6 flags and love the coasters ) and a day trip to the beach ! We dont have exact dates yet but can anyone give us good advice for the vacation we are planning ? This will be next summer so how far in advance should we book and does anyone know what airport is the closest to this area ? Coming from the NYC area !

I'd say three is good, especially if a shorter stay frees up some cash for unique park experiences. Things like a character meal (the princess celebration would be cute for a 16th IMO) or the Fantasmic preferred seating.

I'd first thing, nail down a time frame (roughly). That way you can plan more according to park hours, shows playing, refurbs, etc.

If you are aiming for next summer, then I'd shoot for July or early August to avoid SoCal AP crowds. They could possibly do the 5 for 3 deal again next summer (that would be announced in April).

We usually go on Vacation in Late july early Aug . With the kids in school here we can only plan so far in advance without the worry of failing a regents then they have to be here to take them again . We will set down a time frame by March I am sure . Thanks for the ideas I hope they keep coming .

IS it improtant to stay on site as it is in Orlando ? I just think it will really hurt the budget and we could do more if we didnt stay on site . Just wondering :confused3

No, it is not as important to stay onsite at DLR. You will find lots of folks around here like me who stay onsite at WDW but usually offsite at DLR. The perks are less. Wherever you stay, stay close! There are a dozen or more hotels close enough to walk to DLR.
