Planning to rent AKL in early Oct.

We plan on trying to rent AKl studio or a studio somewhere if possible Oct 3 through Oct 15. we normally fly southwest and they will open up booking for Oct come Feb 18th. We would like to wait until the 18th so we can see what days would be best to fly on. Do you think we will still have a chance to book a AKL studio for these 2 weeks? or should we try and rent points this week and just hope for the best on the flights?

I could be wrong, but I think there may not be full availability during that time. I checked a couple days ago and I believe at least standard was gone. I wouldn't wait if you have your heart set on it. And hopefully you are wanting Savannah.

Seeing that you are so close to the window for your flights in the next week you could start the process with the rental company to find availability, just maybe mention that you are waiting until the 18th to determine flights. From my experience tuesday tends to be the cheapest day to fly in/out.

I'd say there's a chance but since you're so close to the flight release I'd just wait and then put in the request for the preferred dates

Assume you won't get Value or Club, and budget for Savannah, and you have a very good chance of getting most of your stay. You can always book a split stay if there are missing dates. Most owners won't wait list for a renter.

We are buying into AKL so it docent have to be AKL this trip. So what about OKW? How is this property? Or should we maybe look at a split? BWV will be all booked up too correct?

If you want AKV get on it before the 7 month window opens up. Jamba already has holes for 7-11th savannah and standard. Club and value booked solid. Kidani has holes in standard.

It is likely that nights are already missing for for some days during Columbus Day weekend and the Thurs to Sat after that for all studios at AKL except for Kidani savanna view and one or two nights for those have some risk of disappearing if you wait another 10 days.

Not sure what you are hoping for in Southwest fares but I have found for Southwest during Octoboer for going to Orlando in the last few years that prices can be a little more than you see many other times and particularly more during Columbus Day weekend and to some extent the weekend after. Going to Orlando early Oct is usually decent for fares, and you get at least tolerable fares for returning from Orlando usually mid-week days such as Tues to Thurs through mid-Oct.
