Does anyone know if the park offers any arrangements for those planning on proposing? I am hoping to do it in front of a character, so I may write a note, and hand it to the character disguised as an autograph request.

Comments or suggestions?

Also, is the Sunday before Christmas usually crowded?

Thanks!

Tell a photopass photographer and they will photo it for you, then go to City Hall and ask for the "just engaged" buttons they have. :) My BFF was proposed to in front of the wishing well, others on the boards in front of the castle. Remember that many of the characters don't talk (all the fully costumed characters don't, only the face characters do) so don't ask Mickey to ask your DGF to marry you. :)

I am hoping he will get on 1 knee with me!

Here's my imaginary scenario lol...

You write Mickey a note that says "I'm about to propose, can you pretend to propose first" or something, then he gets on one knee and pretends to propose...your girlfriend laughs at the gesture, turns to you to get your reaction, and YOU are on your knee too, with a ring :)

Keep in mind though that you might not find Mickey, he's a busy guy :) So it might have to be someone else, I see the other characters (Tigger, Goofy, Pooh) a little more often.

I love your idea, about Mickey pretending to propose!

So cute and romantic..I love Disneyland, it would be a wonderful place to receive a proposal. Best of luck!

My husband proposed at DL during the fireworks...it was so special. No matter how/when it happens, she will always remember it! DL has become an even more special place to us and now to our kids because we remember that day each time we visit! Good luck and have fun.

Love that scenario!!!!! Stop at City Hall to ask where to find Mickey (if that's who you want to go with) and go from there. :) The characters do have "handlers" so they may be able to help you set it up. :)

to be truthful I think it will be the calm before the storm...crowds will be up but not as bad as it will be later on in the week for sure!! in past years its been pretty mellow up till right around christmas eve and then BAM it hits hard but this year all bets are off...however, most AP holders will be blocked during that time soooooooo it probably could go very well for you:goodvibes...here's tons of pixie dust...let us know how it goes yeah?:wizard:

We saw a proposal last Feb in front of the castle.. at night, all lit up.. photopass person taking pictures. It was very sweet, everyone cheered and clapped afterwards!

Your idea to have the characters involved in the proposal is terrific! :)

Our DD was proposed to by her now DH last Dec. 21st in front of the castle after the Christmas fireworks show. He talked to a CM who led our group (both families were there!) to a spot in front of the castle to watch the fireworks. Then the CM let her now DH take her under the roped off area in the castle courtyard to propose. It was a beautiful moment in a gorgeous setting with the castle all lit up with the icicle lights. :lovestruc

No matter where or how you propose, it will be so special and memorable for both of you! We'll be there on Dec. 20th, so hope to witness a happy couple getting engaged!! :goodvibes

My fiance proposed to me on the StoryBook Land ride. It was amazing. He had went to City Hall and talked to a cast member about getting some help, and one named "Grandma Pat" volunteered to help him.

She had us meet her by the Wishing Well, and then walked us to StoryBook Land and we got on our own boat (him, me, my mom, my brother) and when we reached the mini castle she stopped the boat and he did it.
After that, she gave us each "Just Engaged" buttons and bride and groom Mickey ear hats! (Which have a value of like $20 each). We also got some other little party favor things.
She also took us around and took us on all the Fantasy Land rides, skipping the lines!! And gave us a whole bunch of fast passes for the rest of our vacation!

So, my advice would be definatly get cast member assistance. You could end up with lots of cool stuff. ((like free bride and groom mickey ears!;) ))

I can not help with any advice regarding characters, but I wanted to say, congratulation to you. And, make your plans, but dont stress if things dont go as planned. You can make all the plans you want and if they dont go as planned, guess what, you will be the only one who knows they did not go as planed. She will love and remember every second of the propsal no matter how it plays out.
congratulations again

Aww...that is so cute! Best of luck to you and some added pixie dust :tinker: to make sure that everything goes exactly like you want planned. But like the PP said, no matter what, I'm sure your girlfriend (soon to be fiancee) will still think it's magical :wizard:
