Planning timeline for an Escape wedding

I'm super impatient about starting to plan our wedding, and also paranoid I will be too late to book something and miss out so I just wanted to clarify the timeline of locking things in for an Escape wedding so I can do things as early as possible!

* How far out can you tentatively reserve/pencil in a location for an Escape ceremony? (I'm thinking it's 12 months at the moment)

* How do I actually go about pencilling in a date? (do I phone DFTW and the initial person I speak to does it, or do I have to wait and be assigned a planner?)

* When can you finalise a date? (I'm under the impression it's 8 months out)

* How far in advance can I book a MK shoot? (would it be 8 months so I know when my wedding date is confirmed, or can I book earlier since I know the dates I'll be at WDW in total? I don't mind if they're not on the same day)

* When should I start booking outside vendors (e.g. photographer, hair/make-up) do I 'pencil' them in and then confirm with them after my date is finalised, or do I wait until after the date is finalised to approach them? I can imagine the popular ones book out quickly

* When do I have to book and verify my accommodation at a WDW Resort booked? Is it at the same time that I finalise my wedding date?

Apologies if these are very basic and obvious questions. I have been searching the boards for answers but have just confused myself more so thought I better ask the questions outright. Thanks so much for your help!

Hi!

You can call Disney 12 months out to note your interest in a date, the assistant will take your details and arrange for you to receive a call back within 48 hours from a consultant. The consultant answers any questions you may have, takes details of your plans and then once the 8 month mark hits informs you if you have got the date you wanted, send you the contract, takes payment etc. Once all that is done you get assigned your planner, who organises the rest with you and will be there on your big day.

Penciling in an external vendors can be done at 12 months if you wish, though it is easier to do when you have your date,time and plans finalized.

You can book your accommodation at any time, you just need to give your consultant the reservation number.
