Ok - I am head to Disney for my planning session in May, but EM emailed me the other day also wanting to have a phone session in a month or so. Has anyone else done that or am I driving her crazy? I will have approximately 2 events to plan in addition to the wedding/reception.

Help-
Also can anyone run me through step by step what all you do at the planning session?
Thanks

I had a phone session before we did the in face planning session. The phone one went over the questionaire and the "vision" for the event. It is about 2 hours but helps to focus people in on what needs to be done. I had alot of decisions made when I went to Disney. Bring cutouts, etc to help smooth the way. If you have swatches or paint chips in the color of the dresses for the BM and yours, that helps to!
Have fun and enjoy!

Make sure if you want a food tasting that you request it. That would take place at the time of your planning session as well.

Like Jonette says, make sure you bring any 'visual aids' you have - including pictures of your dress, etc. That will help your wedding team (especially floral) get a feel for your event.

Thanks so much! I have been keeping a binder with everything in it, menus pictures. I have not picked my maids yet, but will hopefully have done that before May! Thanks

hi
wow i am so excited for your planning session.
i just had mine the first week of February.
it was so much fun and my DH2Bs first time to disney since he was 7 (now 28)!!
anyway first our EM asked us a list a questions, mainly things that were important to us over other things. We did a cake testing, and looked at different photo album selections you can chose from that is included in your disney photography (if youre using disney). We also had a meeting with our florist who was also very nice. she goes over the ceremony and reception decor (just have a lot of pics ready so they know what youre thinking of, sounds like you already do). relax and enjoy yourself, its your planning session@@ :teeth: we were able to go look in the pavilion again and actually see the end of a ceremony from outside (their staged exit) guests throwing petals and cinderellas coach wisking them away (so romantic).
if you have any other ques for me please pm me and i would love to talk!!
and hey i always feel like im bugging my EM with too many ques and emails too so dont feel bad!
have a wonderful trip, congratulations :wizard:

Thanks that makes me feel better because I do have many questions, but she is always so sweet
What kind of cake did you decide on? I am so excited for that part

We are having a three tier cake
at the base of each layer will be fresh pink roses that match what will be in my bouquet. The layers have and they lived happily ever after written on them. and the topper of course is the white chocolate castle (done in a light pastel pink).

the bottom layer is yellow cake with bavarian (spelling?) filling
the middle layer (grooms choice) chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse
and the top which we will save but eat on the honeymoon down in disney (not saving and doing that one year in the freezer :crazy2: :teeth: )
the top is marble with milk chocolate mousse and fresh strawberries!!

we did our planning session in person in november but i had a phone session with my em previous to that to just go over some details like timing, the planning kit, etc. the planning session itself went great & it was really reassuring & nice to finally have everything in writing/done. we had our food tasting at ariels, went over the menu, room set up, then we headed back to francks to discuss the order of the day, transportation, our dessert party, did our cake tasting. meet the florist & gave examples of what i wanted for decor & my bouquet. i brought pictures of what i wanted & had, papers with the type of flowers, important people, order of ceremony, etc.

you'll have a great time, just bring examples of what you want, request a menu tasting & enjoy!
