We're still about 10 months until the wedding and I want to plan a planning session now while i can get good airfares.. We dont sign a contract with disney until December and i feel like booking for february in december i wont get as good of airfares. Did anyone who did a planning session book it further in advance than when you signed your contract? If so, did you confirm with disney that the days you would be there would work for them or did you just go out on a limb?

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks,
CHris

Disney usually books your PS at 6 months before your wedding. For example, my wedding is in October and I couldn't have my planning session eariler than April. At 6 months is when they confirm all your prices for your wedding day. Although, I know there are some brides who have gotten to go the their PS before their 6 month mark. You may have to speak to your planner about it.

We scheduled ours for the end of December and that will be like 6 1/2 months out from our wedding ...

I should probably clarify what i meant since after re-reading it isnt too clear.. I still want to do the planning session 6 months prior to the wedding, i just want to get airplane tickets and stuff now since i can get really good airfare.. just wondering if anyone has booked for a future planning session without having a wedding planner yet?

I honestly wouldn't suggest it. We were all set to get a certain date for our wedding and then ending up having to change it 2 times due to us losing the lottery, then we also had to change our planning session since our planning was out of town around our 6 month mark. It just depends on schedules and your flexibility. We could have had our planning session at another time, but not with our planner and we didnt want that. And we were more flexible with our actual wedding date than our location so that changed our original planning session time frame by about 5 months. I would talk to your planner though because they maybe able to work a planning session in earlier if you are only traveling to Disney one time before the wedding.

Your planning session is actually when you meet with your wedding planner to discuss all the details of your wedding. So you wouldn't really be able to book a planning session without knowing who your planner is as you would need to coordinate with your planner's schedule.

Like the PP said, I wouldn't book the ticket until you have confirmed your PS time and date. It is very possible that things can change.

Yeah, that sounds too risky to do. I don't think you'll be able to guarantee that your future wedding planner will be available for the specific dates you want to buy your plane tickets for now.
