Planning Questions- AKV, OKW, VB, VWL, Tickets!

Hi,
I've been starting to work on planning more for our trip in January- and it's our first time as DVC members and at any of these resorts (3 weeks!! First at AKV, then OKW, then the last week split between VB and VWL- SO EXCITED!! )... and I have a whole host of questions- here are the ones I'm hoping you might know some answers to. Thank you in advance!!

1. Tickets- We will be staying for 3 weeks, but the first 5/6 days we will not be doing parks as we will be doing sea world and discovery cove and our vow renewal and it will be busy. So if we got a 14 day (expiring) 10 day pass we were thinking that would be about perfect for our last 2 weeks (3 nights we'll be at vero during that time, so we definitely won't be at parks anyway, and we never do hopper's, our kids are too little and it wears us out to do too much in one day!). Based on this, where is the best place for me to purchase this type of ticket, is there a better deal somewhere? And second, if when we arrive and I find out that the christmas lights are up at MK (we are arrivng sunday after new years, and last year that was the last night they lit them), I am really going to want to see that- but I would need another ticket- I can't start my 10 day pass or it will expire in 14 days!! Am I still doing the right thing getting the 10 day pass and buying one extra ticket? Or is there something better I should do?

2. AKV- which restaurant is better- Jiko or Boma, and why?? We're vegetarian by the way! But I definitely want to eat at one of them while we are at AKV, and we may be meeting friends here...

3. Any tips on Vero Beach- as of now, we were thinking we'd enjoy the resort and also check out the manatee place and the pirate museum. Any other suggestions?

4. OKW- where do I want to request to be at? Is it near HH? What rooms have actually been refurbished?

5. Any tips or requests for VWL?

Oh- and how do you figure out 90 days out to make your dining and other reservations?? I've got so many things to sort out- maybe someone has a quick trick? Or else I guess I just count back on the calendar!

Well being new to DVC ourselves I can only tell you how we do our ADRs. Simply, we know where we want to eat becasue we have done it every trip or occasionally we throw a new one in. Always do Ca Grill, Fultons, Brown Derby, that's a given....last year we loved the food at Coral Reef, it is on the plan this year for my birthday....we also tried WCC, had a blast.....so it was on the list this year due to its convience to MK before the MNSSHP 10/31. New for us this year is Cafe De Something in France...name escapes me...MIL wants to try French cuisine this year. We are also going to do Boma and The Wave as new choices. Mostly I plot the park hours and events we are doing looking at where we will be....then I plug in the restaurants to match those parks or be near that area. So on 10/29 MIL and BIL will go to La Nouba and DH and I will go to our first MNSSHP....we have reservations at Fultons for 5:00.....my be a little late for us arriving at the Party but more convient for La Nouba. I have looked at my spreadsheet so much it is tatooed on my inner eyelids when I close my eyes at night

But plotting is fun for me and planning our WDW trips is my hobby...I mull it over for months before we go trying to come up with a strategy that gives every person a taste of what they like.

Do you use a spreadsheet.....mawhhaaaahahaa(evil scientist laugh)....I am a sweet innocent nurse by day and a Disney Freak Planner at night!!
