Hello,

I am just about ready to book my trip to DL. We are from PA, so we will be flying into SNA and will rent a car.

We are mainly going to see DL and CA, and our children are 10 and 7.

I want to go see El Capitan and Soda Shop... is it far by car and/or hard to get to?

Are there any sights I should consider beyond DL? We will be there for a week in June.

I am just not as familiar with this geography as I am WDW (I have the drive from the Orlando airport to Disney memorized, lololol).

Looking forward to suggestions and advice!

thanks!
Mary

Welcome to the DLR side of the board, Mary! :wave2:

With your kids ages, they might enjoy seeing the beach. You could do a morning Hollywood run (where the El Capitan & Soda Shop are) & then take Sunset Blvd. down to the beach or vice/versa. Check out Malibu &/or Santa Monica & then back to DLR.

If you avoid traffic, DLR to Hollywood (& Santa Monica to DLR) is about an hour. And Hollywood to the beach is about 30-40 min. In traffic though, double the times & it's a gut out.

If you wanted to visit a beach on a separate day, you could also check out Huntington or Laguna Beach which are about 30 min. from DLR.

Since you're familiar with WDW, you should check out the following links which may be helpful:

Have a great time planning a visit to Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

THank you so much! I am still looking thru all the different threads, and I am grateful that these boards are hopping about DL info.
